BeakieHelmet
I will also support the shoujo-type cat-girls just because my inner-troll wants to irritate anime-haters. ;) :P That's sort of the main reason I'll be doing it. :P I made the Tabaxi race for Oblivion on a whim once in response to a request thread somewhere (disclaimer: I myself have still have never played one). The more complaints it got about being "furry" or "anime" the more inclined I became to keep working on it, building support for it, and increasing its visibility in the mod community. I was content to let it fade away with Oblivion, but the furry-haters and anime-haters and just haters in general have convinced me not only to re-work the race for Skyrim but to do as I said above: make multiple versions for multiple tastes. :DAnd so it begins... I really wish you wouldn't do this mod for those reasons though - the khajiit being replaced by cat-eared humans is really just fuel for the furry haters. They can strip all the "furries" from their game with the installation of a simple mod, and so instead of having to live with an anthro race in something popular and good, in the end, you're appeasing them and giving them EXACTLY what they want, instead of spiting them. As for the anime haters, well, we're going to get the mods from Japan over here on Nexus eventually, that's just a matter of time.
dalira
Everyone got his own reasons... if that's his intention, why not ?About haters and other silly people, i just wrote a lil bit how i feel in the suggestion thread. As far as i can tell it would also be a great thing, even if it's not a neko Edited November 30, 2011 by dalira
SmilingAhab
http://www.guide-site.jp/modules/wordpress/attach/micote.jpg Now, I feel that's too far in the other direction. Not a hater. I just think the real issue at the heart of all the anthro race mods here is that the nonhuman races are UNGODLY AND REMORSELESSLY HIDEOUS. http://27.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lrjgwz5SJk1qkf4s8o1_500.png Seriously.Nightmare fuel. ಠ_ಠ For such conversational purposes I like to refer to my handy-dandy standardized trans-regional furry scale: http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a132/hunter-killer_017/furryscale.pngI see your solution as a firm 1. I also see the Bethesda perversion (even in my mind's eye, dear god you can't scrub the mind's eye) as 3.5. I think the answer lies between your half-Saxon, half-Korean girls with cat-ear hairbands and these foul Satan-spawned abominations. At 2.5, we're keeping the snout and whiskers and stuff, just not... preventing me from wanting to play Skyrim because these things are somewhere in the game. Basically the core problem is a combination between Bethesda's sometimes excessive adherence to hyper-realism and the Gamebryo engine originally being designed to create large worlds for backdrops, static worlds and architecture, and never really having been changed. It was never primarily designed with dynamic, complex humanoid meshes and composition. Either way, this is going to take some new meshes, and without the creation kit to make use of all those lovely new NIFs we'll have around here we've basically got nothing to do but gibber. I personally think the male khajiits and both the male and female argonians look fine, the female khajiits just take a hell of a lot more slider work to make them look good. I can probably fix the khajiit faces myself once the CK comes out, if it's anything like the say it was for Oblivion. I made a "Cuter Khajiit Faces" mod for Oblivion this way, even, though it was done way too late for anyone to really care. Still, with the sliders, you can get some OK results. http://img822.imageshack.us/img822/7171/khajiitface.png Nothing compared to how cool you can make the guys though... http://img850.imageshack.us/img850/9060/virr.png
ryanwh
I wouldn't object to this, but if the mesh was made I'd want to use it for a new race. Maybe a KaPoTun invasion from the east, since they presumably can turn into dragons but are supposed to be catlike.

I still think there's nothing that can save the Argonians. But I kind of think it was meant to be that way.

That's what they're supposed to look like. That doesn't make them ugly at all. I mean, when you look at a T-Rex, do you think "Aw man, that thing looks ugly" or do you think "Aw man, that's a T-Rex, that looks awesome!" Just think of the Argonians as Man-T-Rexes or Man-Raptors. Tsixth
Was reading this thread and that other one and all i have to say is : Whoa. I don't know why hate this or hate that, modding has always been about freedom. Who cares if making such mods fuel or appease whatever furry haters? Not as if it's a MMO. I don't think many of us are demanding that Khajiits begone, but that we have that freedom to create something different. Something for those anti-fur people. Something for those anime honto kawaii-desu people. And something for ppl like me that just want to be playful and stick animal ears and tails to our human avatars because We think it's cute. Lets just support our awesome mod creators. Personally I'll be waiting on Luchaire's mod :D I think it fits my bill.
Himeki
I agree on SmilingAhab's suggestion of the 2.5 according to that scale, somewhere between. Temporary "Scale 1" (same image).http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=6150This isn't mine, however I found it while looking for what you're talking about in this thread.
