cossayos
- Scribe Haylen giving me my first Quartermastery quest, off that supposed list of artifacts she has, to a location in Far Harbor. I'd like to add that at this point I hadn't been to Far Harbor. Hell, I hadn't even been to Diamond City. The Brotherhood doesn't even know about Far Harbor yet. And given that the location is not in MA, nor anywhere NEAR MA, in fact it's out of even vertibird range without extra fuel tanks... why is it on her list of artifacts to retrieve from MA? You also get an Institute radiant there.
TheGadget1945
- A break-dancing Automatron in the Mechanist's lair. The thing someow got his head partially stuck in the ground when I shot it, and it was flailing around with his legs spread and turning around. You just had to see it. - Scribe Haylen giving me my first Quartermastery quest, off that supposed list of artifacts she has, to a location in Far Harbor. I was incensed by that when it happened to me. I had to play the "Defend Far Harbor" quest then run all the way to the other side of the island in God Mode of course and just dodged the various monsters when they attacked me ! Moraelin
Oh, oh, oh, I have a better one: the endgame film. What. The. Screw. So... err... I nuked my son because I know that war never changes? Anyone managed to make sense of it? Because for me it has to the most bizarre thing I've seen in ages.
cossayos
So... err... I nuked my son because I know that war never changes? This time round I decided it's not worth the hassle of going through all that dialogue. After Bunker Hill and killing the Courser, I just went up to that roof and sniped him from the distance. The Gauss made his head explode rather nicely. Edited October 3, 2016 by cossayos
EveningTide
Oops, looks like Beth forgot to make him essential at that point. :D
Moraelin
He doesn't have to be essential at that point, since at that point you can just turn enemy of the institute anyway, if you so choose. And you don't even have to talk to him for that. You can just go do the BOS path until and including Spoils Of War, at which point the institute turns hostile and any quests you have for them (including talking to Father) auto-fail. So basically shooting him doesn't mess anything up. It's just a shortcut to get straight to the part where you're hostile to the Institute and can use the Minutemen to turn the Institute into a crater. In fact, he's not essential at ANY point, nor does the game need him to be. You can even shoot him in the face right when you meet him the very first time, right next to the deactivated child synth, fight your way back, and the game continues just fine. All that you miss if you shoot him at any point is just whatever quests you can still do for the institute. Which after Bunker Hill is just handing in Bunker Hill and solving the mutiny down there. Any further down the Institute line there makes the BOS hostile, so it's pretty much end of the line anyway if you're going for the 3 factions alive ending. EveningTide
I don't know about blowing his head up though at any other point. His limbs reset when I attempted this while he was in his death bed. Yes I know, I'm very cruel for that but he deserves it.
Moraelin
Well... I suppose the way my solutions involve less talking and more shooting someone in the face... let's just say maybe my next character name should based on Codsworth's having both "Peter" and "North" in his name list

Especially, since in this case, I wanted to get banned from the Institute anyway. So, it's kind of a radical dialogue skipping instead of spamming the left mouse button.
