Graphics am I blind

I see posts of people saying Skyrim has great graphics and such but I applied the FXAA mod and others and it still looks bad compared to similar open world RPG's I play.

I took some screenshots for example.

Also why doesn't Skyrim have physics on bodies or even on flora. Most RPGs now do. Also I have heard some say that the weather system is great but I think its the worst I have come across because you walk up a snowy mountain and it starts snowing then you walk away a little down the mountain and it just suddenly stops snowing and you look back up the mountain and you can't see any snow you just walk up there and it magically starts.

Anyway here are the screenshots. CLICK THE IMAGE TO SEE PROPERLY

Skyrim's graphics are beyond acceptable. Some people might want to play games licking the walls, and hugging the bottom of ponds as they move through the world. I, personally, like to play fun games, and as long as graphics are not detracting from the gameplay, am generally forgiving in that quarter.

No, it's not 100% freaking gorgeous, but you people who complain and complain and complain about you being to see the pixils on the wall when you grind your face against it disgust me. Skyrim does NOT look bad. Anyone that says so has a very bad emphasis on what is NOT important in a game, yet time is still put into it.

oh boy!

you better prepare to get "Commentbashed" back to Oblivion with this "heretical" post :).

No seriously, I understand your point. I admit, I dont even recognize the game in the right screenshots but it looks a "tad" better. I think thats the "price" to pay to make the game run on consoles (no please I am not insulting you and your console all hail PlayBox). If the game on the right is also on consoles...well who should be ashamed?

I am a PC gamer.

Well both these games are on PC and on Console.

But Skyrim feels like more of a port if you know what I mean. Not much better than console version visually.

Also skyrims must have been badly ported because I can Max Crysis out and nearly have the same amount of FPS that I get in Skyrim which is sad because Skyrim has nothing on Crysis.

Also two worlds 2 runs very well at over 75FPS maxed out. So it very well programmed especially with all the flora physics.

@Miraboreasu

oh great, another "Graphics not important" messenger.

Yes we get it, a game that is lacking in every other aspect wont be saved by graphics no matter how good they are. So far I am getting this right yes? good!

But "NOT important"? really? so you know what, lets dump graphics alltogether and get back to textbased RPGs from good (very) old days. Lets spend all that time "wasted" on good graphics on superdupermagicalcureall gameplay and see how many people buy it.

Yes....again yes, Graphics are not everything but they are important because they hugely, much more than you are ready to admit, add to the complete "Artwork" that a game is (or should be). Besides, there is no law forbidding paying customers to ask for good Gameplay AND good graphics.

So thank you for reminding me again that Graphics alone are not everything, but dont tell me they are not important. Because they damn well are!

Too much emphasis on graphics has RUINED the gaming industry.

Now you don't want the game to be like Crysis with photorealism graphix and zero gameplay, do you? Just hang on for some weeks/months until huge texture packs appear. ;)

How is that even a valid point when there are far too many games with good graphics and better stories than Skyrim.

1. The Witcher 2

2. Dragon Age Origins

3. Two Worlds 2

4. Gothic 4

5. Deus Ex HR

6. Stalker games

7. Half Life series

8. Lord of the Rings war in the north

9. Star Craft 2
