Nexus Mod manager freezes and doesn't load

I just got a brand new computer, a dell XPS, has plenty of muscle to run Skyrim. I installed Skyrim properly, Steam is installed properly. Steam is working, and I could launch it from there. I cannot get the new Mod Manager to work on my new comp, so frustrated. The Mod manager tries to load up, but gets stuck early on, and never gets to loading. I have Windows 10, and it worked fine with the older version. I have downloaded it and redownloaded it several times. It did the early stages properly, of finding the game and whatnot. It just seems to be frozen upon trying to load. Sorry if I did not leave enough detailed info.

If anyone can help, I would be so appreciative. I really am not much of a computer geek at all.

I hate to rain on your new computer parade but that dell XPS probably isnt as great as you think for gaming.....likely has a garbage power supply and a mid tier GPU at best.

They make those prebuilt PCs with great processors and use cheap garbage for everything else. Slap an OK GPU in there slap the DELL name on it and boom market it as a super computer to the uninformed. They have cheap motherboards and cheap power supplies. Thats why people always say its best to build your own...cause it truly is.

Dell is fine for someone who just wants a nice office computer that can do a little of everything well. But for someone who wants to play the most demanding games or heavily mod skyrim.....its not enough.

As far as installing NMM.....make sure you install it OUTSIDE of program files for one. Make sure its not being blocked by any anti virus software. And it should install fine.

BUT i STRONGLY advise skipping NMM altogether and using Mod Organizer instead.

Thanks for the advice. But Nexus Mod manager did install just fine, the problem occurs after you click on scan Skyrim and get to the grey and yellow nexus logo, and it freezes there. I was playing a heavily modded Skyrim on a crappy laptop for 3 years, before it died, just fine. I never had any trouble playing a heavily modded game on my less than stellar laptop. Some of us cannot build our own computers, for many reasons. I was just looking for a possible reson this odd behavior was happening.
