Path grid generation crashes or doesn't work

So, if I'm using a CS Extended from Nexus, the path grid generation feature simply doesn't work (nor does any of the options related to it, e.g. remove grids from active cells etc). A line "Assertion handled at 0x0047BCC7" is added to the CSE console but nothing happens. If I use the usual CS without any expansions but officially patched to the latest version, the path grid generation feature simply crashes the CS with a usual Win7 crash window. Does anyone know what to do with it?

 

PS Please don't tell me that the feature isn't perfect and it's better to use the manual placing of the grids. I know that. I just need to make path grid generation and removal work. Thank you...

It only works on exterior cells and it is really really slow. If you were to try to auto-pathgrid a worldspace the size of Tamriel, it might take hours but would probably crash before finishing.
