Need help with Xepha's Dynamic Weather

Hey, all!

So I now have the latest version of FOMM (0.13.21) and it's working fine. I've adjusted my Load Order according to the many kind responses I've received here:

[X] Fallout3.esm

[X] Anchorage.esm

[X] ThePitt.esm

[X] StreetLights.esm

[X] BrokenSteel.esm

[X] PointLookout.esm

[X] Zeta.esm

[X] Fellout-Full.esp

[X] Night Vision Sunglasses.esp

[X] GNR Enhanced.esp

[X] Fallout Remastered.esp

[X] Fallout Remastered - Fellout.esp

However, there is still one problem: I've downloaded and extracted a bunch of Xepha's Dynamic Weather files into my Data folder, yet none of them appear on FOMM or Fallout Launcher Data Files. I cannot conjure a reason why. I downloaded and extracted them the exact same way I did Fellout, GNR Enhanced, StreetLights, and Fallout Remastered.

What am I missing?

You must have installed in the wrong spot. Manually look in you Data folder and see if you see the esm and esp's from Dynamic Weather. If you installed the main mod and then the addon's you should have about 7 files that start with "Xepha's" located in the Data directory.

Oh, it's you.

Anyway, if you've installed Xepha's Dynamic Weather right, you should have to following .esm's and .esp's in your Fallout3/Data folder:

Xepha's Dynamic Weather.esm

Xepha's Dynamic Weather - Main.esp

Xepha's Dynamic Weather - Anchorage.esp

Xepha's Dynamic Weather - Broken Steel.esp

Xepha's Dynamic Weather - Point Lookout.esp

Xepha's Dynamic Weather - The Pitt.esp

Xepha's Dynamic Weather - Point Lookout.esp

Xepha's Dynamic Weather - The Pitt.esp

I have the following folders in my Data folder:

Xepha's Dynamic Weather - DLC

Xepha's Dynamic Weather - Dynamic Sneak Bonus

Xepha's Dynamic Weather - Main 2.5

Xepha's Dynamic Weather - Night Eye Edition

Xepha's Dynamic Weather - Rain

Xepha's Dynamic Weather - Sandstorm

These folders contain the esm's and esp's. I guess I need to move those files out of these folders and place them directly in the Data folder? Would I then delete these folders? I don't understand why this is necessary since all the other mods I've installed work just fine with their files nested in a folder of the same name.

Yes, you do. Why do you have them in folders?

None of your other mods should be working in this manner. If they ARE working right now, then point blank, you're mistaken about them being in folders...

All of the other mods I've downloaded, once extracted, have been contained in a folder with their name on it. I did not create these folders, they came with the downloaded and extracted files. For example, Fellout-Full.esp is in the folder Fellout-1_23_2672 and works perfectly. This mod shows up in FOMM (as you can see from my previous post) and loads fine. All the other mods in my Load Order function perfectly.

Perhaps you're thinking of something else?

Well, regardless: That's not the way you're supposed to install mods. One should only move the .esp's and .esm's contained in those folders into the Data folder. It's the 1 and only correct way to install a mod.

Just about every single mod's readme describes this process too so to be honest I'm a bit puzzled as to how you could have missed something like that.

In any case: Move them to the data folder like one should and they should show up in FoMM just fine.

After that:

Get the Dynamic weather compatibility patch that comes with the Remastered mod

(should be named: Fallout Remastered - Xepha's Dynamic Weather.esp)

Copy that one into the data folder, then re-post your (entire) load order here.

After re-reading my initial post I can see the confusion in my unclear language over the mod folder locations. I should have said that Xepha's Dynamic Weather mod folders are all within my Fallout 3/Data folder. They are NOT located in a separate folder on my HD. They never have been. They've always been in the correct location ever since I first downloaded and extracted them. My confusion was based on why they weren't showing up in FOMM. I'm going to re-download all the mods tonight, including the Remastered compatibility patch and see what happens. Perhaps the missing compatibility patch is why they weren't showing up?

Damn! This is SERIOUSLY getting frustrating! I downloaded almost all of Xepha's weather mods and extracted them to my Fallout 3/Data folder along with the Fallout Remastered Atmospheric Package and DC Street Package. I run FOMM and I get a new Load Order option, but FOMM will not copy it to my clipboard. I click the link, nothing. Here it is after I was able to run the Load Order report:

[X] Fallout3.esm

[X] Anchorage.esm

[X] ThePitt.esm

[X] StreetLights.esm

[X] BrokenSteel.esm

[X] PointLookout.esm

[X] Zeta.esm

[X] GNR Enhanced.esp

[X] Fellout-Full.esp

[X] Night Vision Sunglasses.esp

[X] Fallout Remastered.esp

[ ] Fallout Remastered - DCStreet.esp

[ ] Fallout Remastered - RIL.esp

[X] Fallout Remastered - Fellout.esp

[ ] Fallout Remastered - Wasteland Music Injector.esp

[ ] Fallout Remastered - Xepha's Dynamic Weather.esp

[ ] Fallout Remastered - WMI + Xepha.esp

[ ] Fallout Remastered - DCStreet + Dynamic Weather.esp

[ ] Fallout Remastered - Xepha's Darkened Interiors.esp

I tried just checking Xepha's Dynamic Weather. CRASH. Game won't even start.

There's also a new problem. When I try to update FOMM, it crashes. WTF?! Here's the crashdump.txt. At least I was able to find that!!

I seem destined to play without this mod. I'm thinking I should just rip everything out, including the game itself and just start over. I just don't understand why this mod refuses to work.

Why would you want to update FoMM? The 0.13.21 version is the latest version. Don't bother with that.

I tried just checking Xepha's Dynamic Weather. CRASH. Game won't even start.

You mean you tried checking the remastered compatibility patch for Xepha's Dynamic weather? If that is the case then it simply crashes because FO3 is still unable to locate Xepha's dynamic weather.

Let's clear up a misunderstanding here: Fallout Remastered - Xepha's Dynamic Weather.esp is not Xepha's dynamic weather itself. It's simply a compatibility patch to make Fallout Remastered and Xepha's dynamic weather work together properly. This patch relies upon Xepha's Dynamic Weather.esm, which Fo3 cannot locate in your case.

Why can't FoMM locate it? Because you have moved the entire folder to the Data directory.

Instead, here's what you should do:

1: Delete any and all dynamic weather folders which are currently in your Data directory.

2: Re-download Xepha's dynamic weather.

3: Unpack those folders with Winzip/winrar/etc.

4: Now you should have a folder called: "Dynamic_Weather_-_Main-10607-2-5". Correct? Open it.

5: There another folder in it called: "Xepha's Dynamic Weather - Main 2.5" Correct? Open this one as well.

6: Now you should be looking at 1 folder called "Textures" and 3 files; 1 is called: Xepha's Dynamic Weather.esm and 1 is called: Xepha's Dynamic Weather - Main.esp.

You'll also find a file called: "Xepha's Dynamic Weather 2.5 - ReadMe" That's the readme.

So, now that you have those in front of you, copy them all into you Data folder and allow any and all overwrites.

Repeat the above for the rest of Xepha's dynamic weather's plugins. Once you've done this, re-post your entire load order (which should include xepha's dynamic weather) here.
