Timihendrix91 Posted September 9, 2008 Share Posted September 9, 2008 That 2012 end of the world idea is really just stupid. The Aztec calendar ends on someday in December in the year 2012. The Aztecs were very advanced in their efforts with astronomy , and this leads some people to think that the calendar's end signifies the end of the world. However, Cortez burned most of the Aztecs' writings when he conquered them, so we don't have much info from them. We also don't know what the end of the calendar signifies, if anything. Let's not forget the fact that while they were advanced for their time period, we are more advanced now then we have ever been. If people thousands of years ago were able to predict that something would happen to end life on earth in 2012, we would have known of it by now.
