gofortheko
requesting an entire new tree, unarmored. Basically this trees perks center around making magic better. Like adding more armor to alteration spells, increased magika regeneration, more hit points, more damage, longer duration for spells. Things that would make a mages life easier if they skip being an overpowered super mage in deadric armor.
Chaosrex
We could call it the "Survival" Perk tree!
Syrencall
This is pretty much just all the other magic trees though. I think it would be FAR easier to just modify the perks for those trees, so you don't have to remake the constellation textures and menus.

Yes but the problem with that is how magic is balanced in this game. Destruction really isnt great until you 100% it with enchanting. Its hard to make a real effective hero unless you start off pure conjuration, then work on destruction as support damage. If you go full destruction, you need alteration (assuming you dont use armor) so you dont die 20+ in one hit against some of the harder hitting monsters. Having a third "armor" tree focused on making pure mages without armor viable without getting dual enchanting heavy armor is something we should all try to endorse. peregrine111
well if you want just armor as mage, I'd suggest going alteration for Mage Armor (Stoneflesh having tripple effect if you have 0 armor, that is already 180 armor out of nothing. Good enough I guess) I'd suggest creating the mod that would allow independent magicka recharging, it's pain to see that if you are holding some already charged spell in your hand, waiting for aiming to release it, your magicka is frozen and don't regenerate. mysty
I created a mod to improve magical combat that addresses a couple of the issues mentioned here. If you're primarily using magic to deal damage, it is a bit awkward to pause the action, switch spells, cast a protection spell, switch again, and then get back to the fight. For that reason, my mod doubles the duration of protection spells (like Stoneflesh), and with the Stability perk, the duration increases by 150% so that the spell lasts 300 seconds (should be long enough for just about any single encounter). I reduced the armor the spells provide, but increased the multiplier for unarmored mages - this makes the protection spells a little weaker for armored players, and a little more powerful for clothies. Additionally, destruction magic scales so that it becomes more viable as primary magical damage. Please take a look, I'd love to hear what you think or if you have suggestions for improvement. http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=2275
peregrine111
the thing is, Mage Armor from Alteration tree that should increase armor from protection spells doesn't seem to work, even if you wear all-cloth. I was wearing Black Robe (0 armor), Boots (0 armor) and Gloves (0 armor), and yet still my Oakflesh gave me just 30 armor.. WTF, should I run around naked? I doubt it would give me some bonus even if I did, and I would lose all those awesome enchants..

I can wear mage robes, hoods, boots, and gloves and still get the multiplied armor bonus (as well as the yummy enchantments to help keep my magicka regen up, etc.)
