Bosmer63
Can anyone make it happen? I hate being the dragonborn.. all that pressure and being considered a special snowflake by everyone is not for me, and I'm sure a lot of other people would agree with me. I honestly believed bethesda wouldn't force dragons down your throat and that dragons wouldn't be just like oblivion gates. I can't even visit riverwood in fear of starting a quest that links to the plot. Like that golden claw you acquire for the merchant. why can't I just bring it to him without clearing the dungeon and getting the dragonstone? (an unnecessary item that reminds me of how non-canon my playthrough is).
kbailey921
It isn't forced down your throat. Once you go to Riverwood. Just don't do what the first quest says to do and you wont run into any dragons until you do the dragon quest in Whiterun. There is no other quests that further the progress of the main quest line except before the storm i believe its called. As long as u don't go to Whiterun talk to the Jarl and tell him about dragons they wont be around. If you didn't know any better, You don't find out you are a dragon born until you do the proper quests. So you don't have to be that special snowflake aso. You can do whatever it is that you want Edited November 29, 2011 by kbailey921

The blacksmith tells you to deliver a sword to her father (the steward of whiterun) you cannot even approach him without triggering the main quest. there's 2 ways to not trigger the main quest:don't follow hadvar or the other guy to riverwood, but really there's only one road how can you NOT follow him? he tells you it's best to split up but there's no other road lol.and second way is to follow hadvar but not talk to the riverwood blacksmith.. he invited you in so that would be rude. kbailey921
You can approach him. All you have to do is when Ireleth tries to talk to you just either tab out of it or just exit conversation because you give it to the steward not the Jarl. RonKemp
I know what you mean starting over sucks. I when back to a save I had just after the main quest. Used the showracemenu code to make a new character and pretended to start from there. The only prob is these dam dragons keep poping up everywhere like cliffracers on steroids. lol Edited November 29, 2011 by RonKemp
