need help fixing an issue with weapon turning into 2 when dropped

i just took a quick look at it but i think its the sword stand. The sword may be trying to mirror what the sword stand looked like how its kinda two different textures spots as one il do some more digging around in the kit but i think its the stand

The sword has no connection with the stand. Its just sitting in the seen with the stand. That is why when you pick up one the rest fall to the ground because they are just floating in the air. The stand is sitting there with the swords. They are not linked at all.

i would try to possibly place them on the ground near the stand, maybe placing something in mid air pretty much could cause this issue at least for my current playthrough i already removed the dresser and i assume a lot of people do as well. I seen when i drop one of the copys tends to turn into a weird blur that would lead me to think its the texture path thats a little out of order. I will keep messing around with some of the files after work but regardless i think its still a very nice mod bug and all

 

I made the miscMod to make it so that the sword could swap between new mods. I couldnt get it to work and so I went with a material swap. When I did that I thought that I didnt need the miscMod anymore.

DId you have this issue before you did that?

The retired 3D modeler in me thinks it has to do with the World Object(the mesh that shows up in the world) which suggests something went wrong on export, when creating the world object, or perhaps the mesh was added twice. You can check in nifskope. AFAIK there isn't a setting in the CK to have it drop 2 world objects. IIRC, the world object is a different nif from the inventory object(the main nif file).

But I see someone has already looked at it so.

Okay so thank goodness for me not deleting the old files I had on here. I went back and downloaded my craft-able version of my sword. Got the nif file from there and put it into the space of the current nif that I am using in my new mod. When I swapped them out, I no longer had the problem. It had to do with the nif file. So I transferred the mesh parts of my new nif to my old one and loaded up the game. Solved the problem. Thanks for the help TummaSuklaa and VinnyOcean24. You guys gave me the idea to try my old nif file to determine that it was indeed the nif file that was causing it. I did check the file and there wasn't two swords in the nif. No idea why it happened but changing it out did the trick. So thanks again for the ideas and allowing me to come to the answer. It would have drove me crazy. I haven't played FO4 all day because it bothered me so much.

 

So in the future if anyone else comes to this same problem, try rebuilding your nif file. That should fix it if you have your weapon drop and you see two of them.

Glad to see it worked out. It could be an entry on the blood decal branch. I know I had some issues getting the blood to show.

 

After some research, you basically need to create a duplicate mesh and set the alpha and it becomes invisible (there are some other lines with values, be sure to copy those values). Could explain why 2 would show up.
