NinjaWarriorPoet
I stumbled across the Black Desert Online and found that they had a knowledge system. That sounded pretty cool and I thought the idea might catch someone's fancy. You could have knowledge give you an advantage on enemies (anatomy), increase the efficacy of potions and poison (physiology), increase crafting or open new crafting options (I know that's the idea behind Lorecraft), increase peoples attitude towards you. Bonus points if it's added to a journal. Some modding ideas I have I muck around with, this was way too far out of my abilities/time commitment. I just figured it might catch someone's eye. csbx
Aren't there already skills / buffs in vanilla Skyrim that grant you bonuses with respect to attack damage, creation of poisons, and changing peoples attitude toward you ? My second concern is: how could this be added without shifting the game balance to being easier than it is--this seeming to be a list of buffs for the player organized around a theme. I wish there was a knowledge system that required players to actually read and study the world and its people before being able to accomplish certain tasks. Probably the biggest deficiency in the game. Edited August 30, 2016 by csbx
NinjaWarriorPoet
I'm currently playing a scholar/archaeologist character and it would be nice to have a use for the scholarship in game. The balance would certainly be an issue. Playing with other things you certainly see that when you touch up one thing how it changes everything else. As I said, more work and knowledge (ironically) than I have to do it right at the moment.
