Nuka World Strategy

I know it is early days yet, but what is your general strategy in Nuka World ? For the moment I am siding with the Operators and I think it might be entertaining to see a shootout between them and the other 2 factions.

I have read the reviews and I am still unsure about the idea of attacking my own settlements where I have armed all settlers with Recon Overcharged Laser Sniper rifles* and they are mostly in Sturdy or Heavy Combat Armor. I can't imagine a few Raiders coming off well against 25 of my settlers.

* And Gauss Rifles and Gatling Lasers. Every time I get one of these I dish it out to a Settler.

Operators control the entire park, northern Commonwealth and some parts of the city with the Pack controlling Nuka-World Red Rocket, the coastline and the southern commonwealth.

I've been using my vast fortune and quick talking to vassalize the settlements peacefully. Dead settlers make no caps.

Thanks for your reply. One of the things that put me off the Pack was when I tried talking to Mason and the Mole Rat and dog were fighting so loudly that I couldn't hear what he was saying. I quicksaved and killed them only to have everybody start firing at me.

Attacking your own settlements is purely pointless, since you already own it, and turning it into a raider outpost doesn't change it into something very different anyway. It's still a settlement with the settlers renamed to raiders. And at least after the attack you'll have less people in it.

I suppose it can be sorta fun to see how you fare against 10 turrets and 20 people armed with gatling lasers, but that's about all the point there is to it.

Do you get any profit from having the raiders control this territory? So far the "hauls" I've gotten are junk, not the useful kind either. I was promised lots of caps... raiders aren't delivering...

I planted a flag at an empty settlement, and now Preston shoots at me on sight. However, he has some kind of dialog that is unaccessible due to his hostility. I tried using console commands to calm him down, that didn't work.

Also he thieved ~1500 5.56mm rounds out of my house in Sanctuary and I will have those back.

The latter part of this DLC has been steadily increasing my blood pressure, I am close to going full-on Cheeki Breeki and gunning down all the raiders and any Minutemen losers who get offended by my "diplomacy."

LOL, I had the same reaction. I was so put off by the animal noises I have given them only 1 park, way too loud in there.

You'd think raiders wouldn't care if you shoot things around them...?

To be honest I got kinda bored with the Operator side quests and when I had to find the Cappys I just thought "thats enough" and killed all the Raiders. I took Curie, Piper and T0-R1 armed with Gatling Lasers so it was a fairly short but entertaining battle.

It's the one(s) that got 1 or no pieces of the park, AFAIK. Hence most people going with a 2/2/1 or 3/2/0 split. So you get the perk from two factions, and you can choose which.

Mind you, I have NO first hand idea, since I still can't place frikken raider banners. But that's what I've read.
