Archery, an issue with miss firing

Is anyone else having a miss fire problem? At first I thought it was a low stamina problem then later on I thought it was a dragon bone weapons mod issue but I switched back to my trusty daedric bow and still I get a succession of miss fires, which is a deadly problem when trying to bring down a ancient dragon!

Then I thought, wait a minute this didn't start to happen until after I got my quick-fire perk.

So if anyone else is having this issue, please chime in, it may be a game glitch and a big one, since you can't really be a dragon hunter with a faulty ranged attack!

No.... I'm not new to archery, I know to take my time to completely draw back before firing, the problem is sometimes it doesn't let me. I racked up over 1000 kills using a bow in this run already, playing as a stealth character, I have the x3 sneak attack damage perk. I brought up my smithing skill up to 100 and my enchanting is close behind, I made myself a dragon bone bow that does close to 400 points of damage when I'm wearing augmented gear, so that's about 1200 crit dmg when I land a x3 hit which is an instant kill for most.

I just got my archery up to 100 a little while ago sneaking up on a few bears and trolls, but a haven't leveled up yet so I don't have a perk point to use.

Maybe I just need to adjust my mouse sensitivity, I forgot to mention that I have the not being able to rotate & view inventory items problem also.

I'll load up a earlier save before I added the quick-shot perk and test... that's going to suck ;(

I'm not ashamed to admit, I've fired off a few arrows prematurely in my time. It's an easy mistake to make if you're new to archery. You just have to take it nice and slow, and pull back fully before you release.

Oh, dear, why oh why have I been cursed/blessed with such a filthy, gutter mind...

Anyway, I've got the quickfire and I haven't seen this problem.

Wait, what? I don't get it. :psyduck:

The only times I've had issues with misfiring is when I quick-load when I already have my arrow fully pulled back. Oh, I have quickfire as well.

It's a joke about a problem some men have... Funny enough, I thought the same exact thing with Lucabration's post haha. Ironically, his name is just a mixup of another potentially dirty word. Yeesh.

Anyway, I'm not having this problem with Archery at all. I am, however, having a problem with arrows not firing (just dropping practically) if I quicksave during a drawn arrow, then shoot said arrow after quickloading...

I guess I should have chosen my words a little more carefully. I can already feel the climax of this unintentional joke coming.... anyway all kidding aside...

Lowering the sensitivity settings on my intellipoint track-ball seems to have worked, I was informed some 150 hours of game time ago that to alleviate the sluggishness of movement I had to max out the settings on my device, which worked but the single click & the remap keys mod messed up some things because I did notice early on that sometimes my 'e' key would just flash when I tried to use it to equip a weapon, but since it was just a minor annoyance I chose to ignore it.

I wish that Bethesda had worked out better settings for the PC version of the game before shipping it out. I mean right out of the box the biggest innovation that has come to this series was broken for me, I'm talking about not being able to click & rotate an item that is in my inventory. That was somewhat of a problem when it comes to examining a dragon claw key to be able to read the sequence needed to unlock a vault.

It happened to me too, so you weren't crazy or anything... ;) In my case it was due to my middle mouse button (the wheel) sticking. A couple whack on my mouse usually fixed that right up.

Thanks for that, I knew it "could" happen to others, but I hoped that it wouldn't. My trusty Intellipoint track-ball optical is no longer in production and if you do find one on eBay whether used or new and still in-the-box it would be damned expensive, so I would never whack it if the keys stick! I saw one last year and the guy wanted $500.00 for it .... that's just crazy.

I started to get carpal-tunnel using a normal mouse, so that's why I switched to this device over 8 years ago & it's still running strong, I will be devastated the the day I need to replace it, at least I have a Logitech Trackman Wireless that kinda matches the configuration.

track-ball optical

Man ... I totally when off subject .. I apologize for that.
