don't like Morrowind. Never have, never will But I don't like Skyrim, either. Even if I don't compare it to anything else, it's not a game I enjoy in its own right.

However, anyone who DOES like it, I'm glad they got their money's worth. I don't want everyone to feel the same way that I do. I'm just having a moan because I am disappointed

Then it is understandable. Skyrim is aimed at many groups, but not all of them. Perhaps you'll enjoy it when the mods start rolling in, and you can customize it to your own liking ;)

Play Morrowind then. If its so perfect you wont miss anything that Skyrim offers anyway. And Skyrim isnt a bad game like you make out, thats just your opinion. My opinion is its probably the best game ive ever played (including morrowind which I didnt even like that much), and has a load more potential with mods.

Im not sure why everyone who doesnt like the game, feels the need to tell the rest of us though. Its as if you want those of us who do like it to suddenly change our minds and hate it. Its kinda annoying really.

Skyrim could have been so much better, it just has a lot of wasted potential, pretty much everything in Skyrim could have been more indepht, and you wanna know why it is like this? My opinion is it's simply because of six words, six numbers "One, one, one, one, one, one" "111111" Such an ambicious release date, I don't remember when it was anounced but I remember it was there at the start of the year wich is like, what the hell? No one can see the future, I think everyone would prefer a good game rather than a "cool release date" I would be fine with the game releasing in like July 2012 or even Nov/Dec 2012, as long as the game is actually good, my guess is that they made the basics and then realised they wouldn't be able to make much more with that release date, and god knows why they sticked to it, they just "polished" the basics that they had and released into the great 11-11-11! Ohhh how wonderful! Such an awesome release date!

Its the fifth game and they can't fix AI yet?

AI is a hard thing to get right. At least in a non-linear game where you decide yourself what to do. This is not some scripted Gears of War, where the collisions are limited.

The removal of attributes means you have less things that can be done for potions, spells, and anything under active effects

If you want to play numbers, go play an MMORPG. Then you can play with stat, caps and whatever else you want. This is an adventure, RP, exploring game. Not a min/max stat game.

I posted a UI picture somewhere that explains the multiple issues

The issue taken up is a guy who dislike a big 3d viewer. I love the UI, since I love seing how the models are made. Where are the seam, how are the shader working, etc, etc. The only problem is clicking makes me go out of the UI when shopping. But that is easily fixed.

The repetitive quests are more repetitive due to the new questing system.

... You mean the radiant quests? Optional quests? More repetive since you got more quests? ... what?

As for the short quest lines, quality over quantity

I found many quests superb, yet short. The mages guild? Had damn fun! Too bad it only lasted for so long. Main quest? woohoo!

Sneak combat is over powered

Don't use it, or take the 15x damage perk?

Black smiting makes leveling easy

Don't buy ingots or ores?

The merging of the upper and lower armors makes for less enchantments and customization

*gasp* Better armor got better quality? What?! You don't need custom enchanting. You can find the enchantements on gearpieces, if you actually explore some.

Dragons are a bit too common.

Don't turn OP, and they are quite tough. Now you got a pain in the ass every time you see a dragon!

I don't know, this seem like the standard: "I exploited crafting, got OP, the game is easy and i miss my nostalgia Morrowind!!" kind of topic.

Keep going.

AI can be done. It is possible and there is not reason beth couldn't at least slightly upgrade it.

That didn't mention my point. You just attacked me and said that I liked numbers. That is not my point, try again.

You only mention one part of the picture, but okay. There are far more issues then what is mentioned in that picture.

The "radiant" quests is what I was referring to.

That is mainly up to opinion if you like the quests or not, you can not deny they are short. Every other misc quest and the minor quest lines are not as good as the main quest and faction quests.

Saying "do not use it" is a ridiculous argument. It is part of the game and should be fixed so you can use it without problems. You also don't have to use potions, magic, or bows. You can just leave them in the game even if it causes issues right? You don't have to use them!

You have to custom enchant to get a good enchantment. Also the armor did not improve in quality. It is the same quality as any other TES game.

Your last point doesn't even make sense. They are simply too common. Its a dragon invasion yes, but after defeating a ton of dragons nothing changes. They keep coming back as if nothing happened.

By the way I am not a huge Morrowind fan.

Anything else?

I couldn't care less, OP. Good riddance, have fun playing whatever else you play and will most likely complain about into the ground.

before you all bash me for being a morrowind fanboy read my post plz. lol

morrowind was my first tes game, so it holds a special place in my heart. and it was... how did he put it "the odd man out" in the series; which is why I loved it so much. ending this right here. (just had to say that. sorry)

why at this moment do i hate skyrim so fiercely? several reasons, non of them to do with morrowind.

i don't usually buy games hot off the press; honestly i don't like paying more than 30-40bucks for one (i try to getaway with $20 or less most of the time)... let alone 60.

secondly, skyrim functioned enough for me to get through one playthrough (- some misc quest trees) with a whole lot of gripe but at the time i still loved it enough to play it with the texture glitches & sometimes constant ctds. now after the 1.2 patch it's not playable at all (for me).

and finally having paid 60 bucks for a game is it too much to ask for it to at least work?

So I hate it cause I love it so much and it left me standing at the altar… so close yet so far away.
