Fallonite100
Hello, I recently purchased some new hardware and one of those pieces of hardware was an SSD. So I wiped my PC and reinstalled Windows, my games, etc. Well, now Fallout 4 seems to be finicky. I installed it to my SSD and started from scratch, so all my previous saves and mods should be gone, although I still have my old directory on my hard drive because I backed up my entire Steam/Steamapps/common folder. Error Number 1: Every time I've started NXM, it keeps telling me that it cannot detect my INI files, even though they are there and I've edited them exactly according to Gopher's video to include the entries for mod installation. Running NXM as admin seems to have helped though. Error 2: The only mods I have installed are a few weapons mods, ie the LK-05 Carbine and the MK14 rifle. When I go to my game and type in the console command to spawn them (because I'm too lazy to get them legit) it doesn't find the ID for me. I type these exact character's for the LK-05 for example: help "LK-05" 4 just like the mod page tells me to, and Fallout 4 cannot find my ID. The same goes for all my weapon mods (I have 4 currently). Irregularity: In my plugins list I noticed all my old mods from my backup installation were present. Just something I thought about pointing out. I would appreciate any help on this. Thank you!
steve40
It doesn't find the IDs because the mods are not loading. http://wiki.tesnexus.com/index.php/Fallout_4_Mod_Installation
Fallonite100
It doesn't find the IDs because the mods are not loading. http://wiki.tesnexus.com/index.php/Fallout_4_Mod_InstallationI've followed these instructions to the letter. I have some new information however: I've discovered that my Nexus Mod Manager doesn't download the actual files anyway. It will download the folders and the esp files, but the texture/mesh files, etc, do not download. I'm going to use the example mod Tracers: Light 'em up. I downloaded this mod with the manager and it said it installed and it activated my esp. However, when I went to my game, bullets disappeared outright. I then uninstalled the mod from the manager and everything was fine. I looked at the files in my data folder after a temporary reinstall and discovered something interesting. It copied over the folders for the mod but the files were not in them. The mod should have had files under the effects and meshes folder, but they were simply not there, although my ESP was there and active. So clearly, my mod manager is going a little crazy. Is there a fix for this? Would reinstalling help? I would appreciate any additional help. Thank you in advance! Fallonite100
I have solved my issue. A reinstallation of Nexus Mod Manager did the trick. I think it may have been a permissions glitch from my previous installation.
