Project579
There is no application controlled because the application doesn't support it naturally if you want ambient occlusion to work properly on Skyrim download NVIDIA Inspector it has a custom setting for the game. BlackRoseOfThorns
Try turning it on in ENB GUI with proper ENB preset installed first. In Nvidia Inspector select Drivers tool icon. In next window type Elder Scrolls V in Profile search. Scroll to Common > Ambient Occlusion Usage. The game doesn't support AO out of the box. You will have to force it with Nvidia Inspector (through drivers settings) or ENB. Forcing it only with Inspector won't give you the best result, since it will only be guessing where approximately the shadowed area should be placed. ENB has avaible much better AO code, which was designed for Skyrim. For example when comparing Fallout 4 ENB AO with native Nvidia HBAO (high quality AO from GameWorks for F4), the quality is the same, they just differ in the technique and produce slightly different results.
