calyps
I'm not complaining about the patch itself. I just thought I'd let you guys know that steam doesn't give a flip. I hadn't rebooted or anything. I had set it to update manually and I'm browsing the web and "Steam has finished downloading Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim" pops up. I look in my settings and it's been switched back to auto-update. What the hell?
MeatheadTheDude
is it true that the skyrim script extender fixes the resistance bug introduced in 1.2?

BarefootWarrior
This has happened to me too, I have been in the 'off line' mode since shortly after I installed the game. Problem is, you don't seem to really be off line. I have serious issues about this, least of all, privacy issues.
MeatheadTheDude
"skyrim script extender" huh? In Fallout 3 and New Vegas the script extender was needed to get a lot of mods running. I believe that this is from the same people.
calyps
This is the first time steam has really pissed me off but man does it piss me off. Changing my settings? Basically saying, you have no control whatsoever over what we put on your computer.

Kravick
I had Steam do the same thing to me. I eventually found copies of the unpatched files and reverted back to the unpatched 1.1 TESV.exe so I could bypass Steam completely. The "offline" mode isn't a true offline mode either. Before it will let you play games in offline mode you have to "verify" your games online before it actually lets you play them offline. So if your internet connection goes out suddenly and you want to play a single player game, Steam needs to first go back online to let you play your games "offline". The entire system makes no god damn sense and just screams, "Haha, we have your money AND we control your computer. f*** you!"
calyps
OKay, now I am complaining about the patch. I had ONE bug before the patch that bothered me. When I did the sneak roll in first person sometimes it wouldn't work. Now, with the patch, I have numerous bugs. I have a floating bug where I hold my arms straight out. I have dragons that fly backward and flail around like ragdolls stuck in geometry. **** you steam.
Brittainy
I was too late to avoid that infernal patch, but ever since it happened I never even let Steam run if I'm connected to the internet. It's a pain, but I disconnected for the times I'd play Skyrim. Don't like Steam, don't like Skyrim. Can't wait to uninstall both. (Still trying to give Skyrim a chance...but definitely NOT ever letting Steam get online again.) I really don't trust garbage like Steam. >:( Damn I miss being able to buy a game, install it without any online s*** and just PLAY without third party software, work-arounds and hassles. All this security just makes me WANT to use pirate software. :pirate: Edited December 2, 2011 by Brittainy
