flobalob
...look at the fact that Morrowind and Cyrodil are in the landmass!!!! .... Quote truncated for clarity. Actually the Cyrodiil/Morrowing land masses are NOT there, only the LOD versions are there. I've actually been there and had a close up look. Dont believe me? add the following to the [General] section of Skyrim.ini bBorderRegionsEnabled=0 The actual landmass ends approx 3 map inches East of Stendar's watchtower (or whatever it's called east of Riften) and 3 inches West of Markath.I can't remember exactly where the landmas ended to the south, but by using TCL as well as above .ini change, I ran as far south as White Gold Tower (which promptly dissapears when you get too close, as there is no land & no tower except LOD)

gigantibyte
January?!? Guess I'll just put Skyrim to bed until then. And Valve? That can't be good for the Nexus. What a rip-off.

GrumpyOldNord
I don't think he is awesome, when he basically came into the mod forums to tell modders to f*** off back to morroblivion and Gmod, and call us spoiled brats. And for that, YOU will get a kudo from me, because I won't allow children to call me a brat, especially not when a fanboy is accusing me of not letting myself be ripped off. Thank you. Anyway, it is time to cool down and update my New Vegas mods, I have to play the last add-on yet. There will always be enough people who will eat what they get served and never complain and never stand up if something is not right. In my parents times youth were supposed to go to the streets and protest against the establishment and not to back off. In my time youth are money-oriented apple-polishers, gladly taking any crap from the capitalist establishment and even thinking every sh*t served is cool. Times they are a changin. And for the insulting gentleman I suggest going over to the Beth Forums and licking boots there. You'll quickly see how sh*t will blow, especially in THIS forum and on this site, because the Steam-Mod-Marketing campaign is also directed against the Nexus sites, because this is the biggest and most successful. And they want their share of that. Wait and see. I'm a little confused here. Are you actually comparing modders to the proletariat? Is this now a matter of social struggle? And by no means am I interested in licking boots. The game has plenty of flaws and bugs, and that's probably the very reason the modding tools have been delayed. They've been overloaded with demands to fix their base product to the point that they weren't able to release any additional stuff. And out of curiosity, how are you being ripped off? Did you pre-order the promised Creation Kit? Did you get charged to your credit card? I guess I'm a little puzzled by all the vitriol against the developers for having hit bumps in their plan. You'll notice I didn't even touch the Steam subject, because what I have to say about that isn't quite so flattering. I hate Steam. With a passion. Probably more so than the individual who started this thread now hates Bethesda. I absolutely refuse to use Steam (in fact, the only time I have was to download the Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines Resurgence mod -- still in production, by the by). I am by no means a child, or a fanboy (ok, maybe a little) but I am quite new to the Elder Scrolls series, as Skyrim is my first foray into Tamriel and I was simply shocked by all the bitter hatred geared towards the developers of this fantastic game for what to me seems like a very minor inconveience. If I seemed insulting, perhaps it was because I had a knee-jerk reaction of feeling insulted.
hexorcist
I'm not frustrated with the release date directly, but indirectly yes. My issue is that it's being pushed back to integrate Steam -- not to fix bugs with it (Bethesda says it's the exact tool their devs used to make the game right? Good enough for them, good enough for me.) I'm anti-steam and I'll admit it upfront. I posted my list of issues just since Skyrim's release on another thread, and it was a good 5-6 points. Why do we need buggy/bloated code added to what the devs were using? It doesn't make sense unless there's something in it for Bethesda. Just a minor note edited in, just because I'm anti-steam doesn't mean I'm a pirate - I purchased the game just as everyone should that wants to play it. stuges
January?!? Guess I'll just put Skyrim to bed until then. And Valve? That can't be good for the Nexus. What a rip-off. Start of January is not that far. And yeah, Valve  I guess their point in making mods easy to install is good thought, for less experienced they can just klick on the mods they want and voilá, they are there ready to be played. Sunnie
When i heard that it has been announced to be released within January, my reaction was disgust. I find that the Beth team knew it would take that long to produce the Creation Kit, they knew over 30% of the PC community would have not purchased the game our would have waited. I think what they did is both sick and disgusting towards the consumers and the series. The Bethesda corporation has lost my money for any releases EVER in the future. I will never buy one single product from their arsenal ever again.I posted a similar thread on the beth forums, removed in less than one minute.I was banned for this post on the Beth Forum Who's with me? Sorry, not with you. I disagree with everything you posted and especially the sentiment behind this post and your attempt to further whip the forum into a frenzy of Bethsoft hate. First, these dumb complaint threads belong in the General Skyrim Discussion forum, not Mod Talk.Second, flaming Bethsoft here will not accomplish anything. If you posted on the BSG forum and it got deleted and you got banned, I'd venture to guess that it wasn't very constructive and it probably violated a half dozen of their forum rules. Theres plenty of complaining over there that isn't getting deleted, sooooo....Third, it seems the only reason to post something like this over here is to troll this forum here into more Bethsoft hating. Honestly, getting tired of weeding through the hate threads while keeping up with modding subjects. Does it suck that BS is releasing the CS in January? For some it seems it's the end of the world, for me it doesn't suck because it gives me a chance to really get to know the game before changing every aspect of it. Will I buy future BGS games? Absolutely. There's no conspiracy behind releasing a free set of tools that let you add or change almost ever inch of content in the game. Would I still had bought it for release day? Yep, and I'd likely buy it again because the game is very good, even without a CS. And if I could make a mature suggestion: If you really hate BSG and Skyrim that much just for releasing the CS a couple months after the game released, you might want to just uninstall the game and talk to someone about this anger you have pent up. Seriously, it's not healthy. @those folks agreeing with and encouraging this hate fest: What is it you are trying to accomplish here? Please take it to and limit yourselves to bashing in the general forum where those of us just interested in the forum topic (Mod Talk) can follow and discuss modding. Thanks! Edit: And I request that the mod staff lock this thread and every other thread like it in this forum going forward. Bethesda will probably be short staffed at the end of December because of the holiday season, so don't count on an early January release. My guess is that it will be announced for Jan 30th, and delayed until February. Valve will just end up splitting up the modding community, especially if money is involved. Will independent modding even still be possible without Valve and Steam? It seems Bethesda is positioning themselves as the judicator of what mods will be allowed, giving us a system that's similar to Apple's App store or Google's Android Market. It seems more likely to me that Bethesda want to be able to cherry pick the really good, popular mods and make them "official" (the way it's done for TF2). That will still allow people to make mods with pink flying unicorns, or killable children, or sex and romance, and release them, but those just won't get accredited.
