z3mbabwe
Run DPC Latency Tester before the game runs and leave it running while the game runs, hopefully also when it slows down. Post your results. http://www.thesycon.de/deu/latency_check.shtml Edited December 4, 2011 by z3mbabwe

Malchus
What INI's have you edited? Specifically related to cellcache, ugridstoload etc. If you have edited these. Try reverting them, as it should reduce the amount of memory that Skyrim is attempting to use. -Malchus
DeadSpace
do you have anything for measuring clock speeds while game is running for gpu and cpu? since you've ruled out overtemp (which is one reason cpu/gpu's will downclock) there might be something else in your setup that downclocks one or the other...or both. alt tabbing out would clear it reason>the loads off both and you're now on desktop which would reset any clocks. lichy123
bump. i am considering buying 8 more GB of ram: http://www.amazon.co.uk/G-Skill-Ripjaws-Sandybridge-Platforms-PC12800/dp/B004HZG4ZO/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1323190775&sr=8-7 assuming the problem is lack of ram. tho, who knows if that is the real problem. maboru
I was referring to an nVidia Inspector game profile.
