icecreamassassin
Nope, that doesn't work. It starts zoomed in but I've already zoomed all the way out, that's the max size I listed before. Also, I can't find reference to the "black band" bug when generating landscape textures. I don't know wtf happened, but in all my testing and trying to get stuff working, I now have the black band bug in spots, how would I avoid that? Basically I follow the creation kit wiki's guide on doing LOD, then I use TES5LodGen to make the object and tree LOD and it all worked perfectly the first time but now the damned bands are appearing this run through. I'm certain the render window was maxed in my SkyrimEditorPrefs.ini file, but I was doing some minor multitasking while things were processing which I know can boff things up. Can that be a cause? Di0nysys
Generating Land LOD with CK causes black bands if you save after generation. I've generated 14 worldspaces using Oscape+TES5LodGen with this method. No black bands.
Di0nysys
Btw, in the bottom left corner of the Region editor, the coordinates are shown to the current cell your mouse cursor is in. Move the cursor upwards till u find 64x64. Dunno how else to explain it lol. Just middle mouse drag till u find the coordinates. Good luck. agerweb
Thankyou, I have finally got it - hold the middle mouse and drag the map, so obvious really. ice - do you want to send me your esp and I will generate a LoD and see what happens, in case you have a gremlin somewhere. icecreamassassin
OHHH middle mouse DRAG, you said scroll originally, I see, ok cool, lol. There were no scroll bars so I assumed the region page was showing everything it had. Good to know. That's weird about the bands because I did not save after doing any of the region gen functions. Do you have a non-CK guide recommendation anywhere? So I would basically set the region bounds out as far as I want for water rendering and then save it, use Oscape and then TES5LodGen and bypass using the CK at all for any LOD generation stuff? agerweb
I haven't seen any other way suggested for expanding an existing worldspace (in your case to get more water area) except manually by adding cells to the edges or using the region method in the CK. I haven't been near the CK for actual LoD generation since discoverying Oscape and TesVLodGen. Except when Oscape gets the sea and land levels wrong and you have to put the correct ones in taken from the CK.

CK LOD gen is pretty bad imo. Here's Alex J's tutorial on using Oscape. The program is pretty straightforward. Skip the object LOD part as we're now using TES5LODGen. icecreamassassin
Yeah I'm familiar with AJV's tutorial, it's the first one that got me to something successful. I think I am going to have to see how to set up tree billboards because I have a bunch of custom form trees with re-colorization done to them which aren't showing up on the LOD and I still seem to be getting the black band issue even when I don't even use the CK for anything. Guess I'll delete all the resources and start fresh. One question though, in Oscape there is an option for not ending the water at 512 units or something, is that for extending the water out indefinitely? That's the main concern I have at this point, the rest I can keep fiddling with and figure out. Thanks again for all the help
