shadyshopkeep
I'm at the portion of the Old Guns mission at the Castle in which I'm supposed to "build and assign settlers to Artillery". When I do so, though, every settler I assign to an artillery will walk up to it and get into the ready stance, but immediately get off of it and walk away again, with both the settler and artillery still listed as "unassigned". I've tried loading an earlier save point and redoing the mission, disabling some settlement mods (specifically Place Everything and Faction Housing), and restarting Fallout, but nothing has worked so far. I don't care about the artillery at this point; I just want the mission done. Vormina
Did you try placing the Artillery where the old ones were? Or try temporarily disabling any mods that edit the Castle area. Other than that you could try Googling the quest name and find console commands to further the quest line along.
shadyshopkeep
I have no idea how, but after spending a few hours doing other things in the game and (improbably) adding some more mods, I came back to the Castle and tried assigning a settler to the artillery again. Somehow, it worked. Thanks for your help anyway, Vormina. I was prepared to advance the quest stage, which probably would have worked also.
