CredibleJoe
I think it could happen. But instead of one main character, there would be four-- One dragonborn from the head of each faction. A companion, a mage, a thief, and an assassin. Let's say... A Nord, a Dark Elf, a Kajhiit, and an Argonian. There could be particular character rivalry between the Nord and Dark Elf for character development... Just for giggles, let's make the Dark Elf a vampire, to contrast even more with the werewolf companion. Otherwise, it would just follow the plot of the main storyline, which I thought was pretty good.
InuyashaFE
Any Elder Scrolls movies would fail miserably, the entire charm of these games is doing everything yourself, if it were a movie, it wouldn't be entertaining at all.
marharth
I don't think beth even has the budget to make a movie.
gofortheko
I disagree, a good movie is a good movie, a getting a good writer to take the right parts from any game could make a good movie. I mean if you just focused on the main story line of Skyrim that would make a great movie. The problem is getting the right director, since there are not many directors who spend much time making fantasy movies. Peter Jackson would obviously be a good fit, and if the major movie companies didnt have almost no say on the script it could work. But to say you cant make a good movie out of the storylines in skyrim is just silly.
Lachdonin
One of the key reasons TES games would not translate well to movies... Free Roam. Consider the wealth of stuff to do in a TES game, then consider the linear nature of a movie in general. The two don't mix. TES games have a completely different method of storying telling that is anathma to the linear nature of Movies, and indeed most books. In the same way, the TES model renders the potential for a MMO moot. You could, of course, have something based in the TES universe as a movie, but it would be a totalyl different bird. Plus, you knwo... Fantasy movies don't generally do well.

There a million movie storylines you could tell in a movie. The Main Storyline, the Mage guild storyline, the Companions, Dark Brotherhood... you get the idea. You are thinking too much scope, the game is great because of what you can do, but a good writer can translate any of these storylines into a good movie. MonsterMonkey
Because for all those who dont know the game it'would seams like another Lord of the ring style movie, it's pretty much difficult to have elves dragons knights etc, in a movie after Peter Jackson's work. And it's a fact that Elder's scroll serie is over-inspired by J.R.R Tolkien, you notice that when you read The Silmarillion, of course names and Stories are not the same but the elder's Scroll could take place at the second age of middle earth when humans have just arrive and they discovers the elven realms, there are other point of comparison The Noldors are pretty much the same as the Thalmors, you got the Draugrs in Skyrim and the Barrow-wights in LOTR, 8 gods in both stories (9 in Tolkien books but one is Morgoth the lord of darkness, Master of Sauron), in Tolkien's Dragons aren't just beasts they got magic skills and are clever, like the ones in the game etc..etc.. There are differencies too of course (Dwaves, magicians..) but this is not what people would notice on screen, if it looks like LOTR, an Elder's *scroll Movie would Probably Fail. Of Course Tolkien has tooked many from nordic Legends and it's normal that there is similarity in both books and Skyrim, wich is a game i love and far better than LOTR games, Edited December 3, 2011 by MonsterMonkey

I mean why wouldnt you want to see a skyrim movie vs another puke laced moronic worthless Twilight movie? If they focused more on the main storyline it would be good. PsYchotic666Joker
Because you can't install mods on movies, things would conflict and they would block out the nudes.
