Game won't even start. Please help!

Every time I try to load up FONV (whether it is directly through NMM or through Steam) it freezes on the loading screen in almost the same spot every time (either on the screen with tons of words on it or halfway between that screen and the one that says Obsidian on it). This started happening right after I installed NMM. Could it be because of improper installation of NMM or a mod (the only two I tried downloading were XRE Cars and like RSA modern weapons I think it was called). I tried to do the validate the game cache thing on steam and it said it fixed one file but that didn't fix the problem. If anyone knows what is going on and/or how to fix this please help!

I did that and tried reinstalling it and that didn't work so I try just uninstalling it and not reinstalling but that didn't work either. I would uninstall the weapons mod but it just shows up as plugins and not a mod so I don't know how to do that.

i dont understand what you mean it just shows up as plugins.... if you installed through NMM they all are removed the same way. some mods dont have esp's though. in the mod tab you just double click the mod to disable it and then to uninstall it you right click and go to 'uninstall and delete' and select 'active profile'

 

 

i can tell you the car mod though isnt worth it.... i found it to be underwhelming and there are far better mods to use. check out this mod: http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/55008/?

 

i might be releasing a damage overhaul for that mod in a few weeks as well... though i need to acquire permission first and finish the changes.

The weapons mod doesn't show up in the mods tab, it only has things in the plugins tab. Thanks for the advice on the car mod, it didn't seem lore friendly at all, I really just wanted a way to get around faster.

yeah i never used it. look into Project Nevada. it has a sprint function as well as a whole lot of other cool customizable features.

Cool, I definitely will. So how would I go about uninstalling the weapons mod, as I double checked and it does not appear in the mods tab, just the plugins and I couldn't find an option to uninstall it anywhere. All I could do is remove the check mark next to its two plugins which didn't solve the freezing problem.

I'm not sure how I installed it really. I believe that there was a read me in the file and I think it was a drag and drop somewhere in the game directory but I can't remember.

Oh... It was manually installed. Yeah that has to be manually removed. You can do this two ways reinstall fallout NV.

1) uninstall via Steam

2) delete nv steam folder

3) reinstall game

4) run game

5) exit and start modding again.

 

Or if you're willing to wait till about 9am pst tomorrow i can help remove the mod without the need to uninstall the game.
