bisquits
Need a little assist .obj to .nif conversionOkay I got bored with skyrim and broke into Blender to try to convert a poser file / mesh to a nif for Oblivion. I got it all working resized it all everything looks good bone weights painted. I ran into an issue in nifscope while trying to apply a texture to the model related to faces and vertices when I tried to update the Tangent spaces and the textures are not showing up. Can someone point me to a decent tutorial for this or perhaps help me out with some instruction please. This is the error I am getting in Nifscope has anyone ever seen this: "need vertices, normals, texture coordinates and faces to calculate tangents and binormals" I know that no one else is doing this stuff anymore but I am truly stumped here! :bang: Bis
ghastley
Looks like no UV map was applied in Blender. Flat material colors aren't enough. Nif's need texture maps.
jamochawoke
Yeah I just learned UV mapping in Blender. It is a pain, but once you learn how to texture it is priceless :)
ghastley
A minor addition to my previous update. The reason that it happens is that the exporter optimizes too much. Without a texture map to use the UV information, it doesn't think it's needed and leaves it out. Having a texture map ensures that the UV data is included.
