I wouldn't consider this a spoiler but I'm playing a DB assassin and this guard out of the blue says "I know who you are, Hail Sithis", had me in sitches so I wonder is the comment system from NPC's only partially working because that example was awesome. El'derina: Yes they don't like bad press, but who does? Amazed me how quickly they shut down complaints on their forums that takes real skill. I already written in some other topic that i miss the secrecy of DB and the dark mystical atmosphere...i can understand that DB in skyrim is at the end of being extinct but damn my soul was killed right after i realized what became of them...children summoning them, guards commenting on you like they drank mead with you in the sanctuary the other day...i just miss that atmosphere from oblivion where people even feared to think about them. Edited December 4, 2011 by pavy

BarefootWarrior
From what I've read here (but not experienced myself yet) is that the ending is just as bleak as Oblivion: you kill the bad guy and nobody knows or gives a s***, which is sad :ermm: The end of Morrowind was like: OMG ITS NEREVAR! IM A VIRGIN BUT PLEASE TAKE ME! YOU'RE THE HERO! U know? The feeling that you were THE MAN and everyone knew and loved you for it! It's just that which I'm missing in Skyrim. I'm the man who killed Jarl Ulfric. Does anyone know? Tullius does, so does Rikke. The rest? Nah, they still talk like Ulfric is alive, or they see me as a citizen. Even the goddamn legionnaires say "problem, citizen?" when I approach them. s*** is bleak, yo! LOL, I think you hit on something here. For myself anyway, and that is a feeling of accomplishment. Now I haven't played Morrowind, but I have gotten as far as loading it and getting off the ship, but as soon as I saw the puppet mouth thing I busted out laughing and stopped, so I will have to mod the hell out of this before I can really get started. But, character individuality and the feeling of accomplishment, knowing that I got through the game and felt good about it are very important to me. I can refer (once again) to Origins, I felt real bad about finishing that game, but I also had a huge feeling of accomplishment. I had a similar feeling with oblivion, but as you said, no one cared, or even knew. Oh well, guess I can blend in with the crowd now, eh? A bit of a let down, but still felt good about getting through it. I felt good ending TW2, I knew I had accomplished something and felt good. On the other hand, there is one memorable moment where I actually got mad at the end of a game, and that is Fable 2. Give me break here, I'm using as a reference only folks...you go through the whole story, and you beat the game. What happens at the end, that *itch Theresa has her little say and then says..'Be gone!'. WHAT! Are you serious! What were you people thinking? It is now collecting dust somewhere. Then there is the infamous DA2 ending...nuff said. So I think giving the player a feeling of accomplishment has something to do with it. I don't know about to many other games, but I have to wonder if any other games leave you with a good feeling. Moredhel
But there is GOAT JUSTICE! I just took a quest to kill the leader at Uttering Hills. Went to the place. Scared a goat enough for it to go running towards the bandits camping there. Bandits attack goat. I kill the bandits. GOAT JUSTICE.
darthsloth74
I just loved the whole Luchien Lachance character in Oblivion so heavily overacted but absolutely priceless. " You sleep rather soundly for a murderer", may favourite TES questline ever. Oh and I have finished the DB questline in Skyrim so lets not mention any more. Regarding the new DB I hate the fact that they all dress like Daredevil in stretchy spandex its really wrong they should dress like black robed monks, albeit monks carrying an arsenal of assassins tools. BarefootWarrior: Yes I thought DA2 ending was really pants. I enjoyed the game itself though even if a lot of people panned it. Moredhel: What about chicken justice? Kill a chicken its a 5GP bounty and a screaming mob after you. Nevermind theres foxes everywhere that eat chickens oh but you get bounty for killing them too. Is Beth concerned that are gaming antics may upset the World Wildlife Foundation? Edited December 4, 2011 by darthsloth74

My proud (once) noble dwarf tank warrior was done. Now what? Can't play a different DAO (You'll agree with me that being a 2hander warrior or dualwielder or healer or... makes you feel like part of the group, not THE hero) :( Never played DA2, got sick and angry playing the demo because it felt DUMBED DOWN! (By the gods I do use a lot of caps when I drink beer, man!) /rant
darthsloth74
Dragon Age Origins was truly awesome but then I liked Jade Empire too that was a lot of fun and had the usual Bioware unexpected twist in it. Actually I might add that Duncan form DAO is a real swine, "There is no going back" that was one seriously cool moment and there were loads like that in DAO. Anyway must get some sleep now its been a great discussion everyone. See ya. :) Edited December 4, 2011 by darthsloth74
jjk999
I have done 4 ostensibly different characters and ALL of them ended up utilizing bows and stealth. Every single character ends up being a jack of all trades to some degree.
Pushkatu
This is a very good topic, much to learn and take into consideration. I don't know if I can bring anything new to the table, but I'll just mention a few things I have in mind. The thing that breaks the immersion(literally kills it, for me) is that damn quest mark. Here's how it slowly kills most of the fun for me. So I'm in Winterhold and I get a new quest after talking with some NPC. All good so far. Then I go to the quest menu and read all the information there(of no real value most of the time, it's not helping). So, I'm supposed to go and kill some bandit leader, but the NPC I talked to never even mentioned the location and to make things even better, all of the sudden there's an arrow pointing at the exact location and once you get there it even points exactly(it's above his/her head, jeez ) at the NPC you must kill. So, I mentioned I'm in Winterhold right? Now, I open my map and look for the location I must go to, only to find out it's on the other side of the world. Again, no problem(I do enjoy a long travel), but the fact that there's that damn quest mark above it makes me mad. A few hints would have been a lot better. Something like" It's located NV of Riverwood, near the main road that leads to bla bla..." So, my first destination at this point would be Riverwoord and then head NV and so on. Morrowind did this and that's why I think I enjoyed so much exploring that game, becouse I found many of it's locations the hard way. I remember when I had to find Urshilaku Burial Caverns and recover something from there. From their camp I had to follow the path and look for clues. It took me a couple of hours to find it and when I did I felt as if I accomplished something incredible. Even the loot I got from there was precious. Skyrim's world is amazing to say the least, so ignoring the fact that there's no creature diversity, one can have a lot of fun exploring this vast world. I know the quest mark can be disabled, but the game was simply not designed to play without it.:ermm:
