Improved dual-wielding melee combat

Yeah, I really feel like searching for the X button in the middle of combat to try and block an attack and lose my grip of the WASD in the process. It's not like the button has to resemble anything of what you do, you don't move your arms up in a bent position to form a W when you move forwards. I still suggest the button would be an easily accessed one, such as Q, but that anyone can change it to suit themselves. Personally I'd prefer one of my additional mouse buttons.

it can be done. Don't know how to code it but it really would be best if when your dual wielding main attack would strike with both hands. first click right hand sword second click left hand sword. Then second attack would block, just like it would with wielding a two handed weapon. Essentially crossing both blades in front of you creating a make shift shield. Same could be done with single handing a weapon. Keep your left hand free and attack swings normally while second attack would block with your sword. The only downside would be when using magic. Would make dual wielding attack magic just as simple, one click throws both spells out if dual wielding or just one if having one attack spell. But that makes the left handed spells tricky because you would need to code it differently if using a non combat spell in left hand and combat in right. Same trickiness when using a one handed weapon and a spell in your left hand. The concept is there and it could have been implemented better but I could see the coding process taking a while fine tuning combat in that way. But it definitely would make dual wielding weapons or even going full on martial arts brawler a more viable option. As it is now I rarely every dual wield because it's just to clunky to use and in order to truly attack quicker like a berserker you need to have a deep deep stamina pool and remain rooted in place. Makes it unfun when other builds allow more freedom of movement and stamina control.

Sorry to bring up a dead topic but this has always always bugged me and I always wondered why no one ever sat down and tried to figure it out. It's a big nuisance on bethesdas part and figured someone would have tried tackling it at some point so figured I'd look it up all these years later to see it's just kinda still a nothing burger.

Ok I responded to this thread directly from a google link while searching the topic. Didn't see the post to not bump threads. Sorry about that.
