vfvs11a
I'd kinda like to go from area to area exhausting all of the quests there so that I could eventually "finish" the game and see all of the actual hand crafted content. The problem is the simple scripted quests completely muck that up. And yes, giving it a fancy name like "Radiant A.I." does not change it from something that has been around in RPGs for ages where quests are generated from a few scripts. Hopefully someone will create a mod that disables this.
HoovesDerpy
I feel kind of naive for asking this... but what exactly are you speaking of? I have yet to go around and do all of the quests, and I haven't put as much time into the game as others, so I don't feel as if I've encountered enough of what you are speaking of to accurately pin it. Do you mind giving some examples?
Guss
Confused on what you are trying to get out. 45hours and brother has 54hours still have yet to finish all the towns/misc quests given out. atm i got around 45 quests in my log still not finished, about the really only towns i am 70%-100% is riverside and whiterun. some examples or better description. ty  If talking about oblivion i see that the quests are limited and easy to finish  Edited December 4, 2011 by Guss
vfvs11a
Radiant quests are randomly generated. You literally can't "finish" the game because it will randomly generate new random quests. The problem is, these quests are generated by scripts and are rather dull.
Guss
I kinda get it now. but will not be to hard to fix up with mods. removing them will lower the amount of quest you get, be somewhat like oblivion. but yea killing gaints over and over at near by camps i see. the mods atm few are great and lots seem lame and wtf. but i can't wait to see what will come over the next 6months or so. HoovesDerpy
Like I asked, do you think you could provide an example of one of these quests? For instance, what are the objectives, rewards, and instances of these quests? It's very possible I've run into them many times now, however I have yet to find a quest that is borderline equal with another quest, saving room for the generic seeming takeover quests in the 'Liberate Skyrim' quests (I found that on both sides of the civil war the actual action were very similar. While the content was fun in any case, it seemed like they did little to make each raid different than another on either side of the war) Edit: Are you speaking of quests such as those bounty quests from the Jarls and other menial tasks that you can consistently complete? Are there other instances of these throughout the game? Edited December 4, 2011 by HoovesDerpy
Lachdonin
Generally speaking, the Radiant quests are the 'bounties' offered by tavern keepers, the jobs offered by some Jarls (such as in Windhelm) or the quests offered by the Compainons after becomming Harbingers. Almost always they involved either killing a particular creature such as a Giant or Hag Raven, or killing the leader of a camp of bandits. Its actually pretty easy to tell them appart from the non radiant quests. That said, a lot of quests also have a radiant element to them, and will sometimes send you to different locations, or those locations will be populated by different enemies. Those quests are VERY repetitive and as you said dull, once the CK comes out im pretty sure someone will disable them just like there were some mods in Oblivion wich finished "unfinishable" quests
Lachdonin
Either that, or expand them to have more variety... We shall have to wait and see how adventurous people are.

Ahh yes I understand now. It took me a few seconds to gather precisely what was being spoken of. I do agree that these are rather boring quests and that they should not be considered actual quests instead of side jobs. I think it would be really interesting if someone were to revamp the system into it's own branching line of quests. Say for instance you do some bounty jobs for the Jarl: You would be given a rank within the city and some quests may become available to you for doing work for them, as with the Thieves guild's grind jobs (that's what I've been calling them). Once you do enough of these quests you can receive a much less generic job that will impact the city around you. I suppose that is another reason to be anxious about the release of the CK
