soot00
LOL, close to a 100 hours in and just found the First tip on my list today, -If a companion gets in your way and does not move. Hit your SPRINT Key and bump him, he will move away asap-For those curious about the vanilla no personality companions early on like Lydia. You will run into more personable companions later. I now have a Dark Elf mage, Erandur as my companion and he has 100x more personality then all my earlier companions like Lydia and Aela did. hayabusa153
I got a few... -Don't exploit the game to jump up in levels, if you go too far, you may end up making the game too hard to handle with your current equipment. -Try to do as many daedric quests as you can find, the reward is often great. (The daedric quests on skyrim are different in the fact that they usually are started by regular NPC's instead of finding the shrine) -If you know you're gonna run into a dragon priest, (such as in Rognvald) bring many healing items and your best equipment, they are usually tough opponents, even on novice. -to make money fast, make as many (certain piece of armor; not releasing the name because you only deserve the name if you can figure it out yourself) as often as you can and sell them, this method brings in the cash. (especially if you haven't patched your game yet as you can increase your speech faster) Follow these tips at ANY level, trust me, the game never gets easier. xlr8films
- Invest in Detect Dead on the Alteration tree (50 skill). Not only will it help you locate the bodies of your dispatched enemies (how many times have you vainly swept through the brush at night to find that last Bandit Marauder you KNOW you knocked over there somewhere??) ... but it will also help you locate that one dead body that might be hidden around a corner by the devs with that sweet, sweet loot on them.
soot00
-If you give your companions Health potions, they will use them when appropriate. However their AI is not programmed to spam drink potions to full like we do, they just take one swig with a long duration inbetween. Next time in battle watch your companions for that swirly spell effect like we get when we heal or drink health pots. -Your companions will use Torches, if they don't auto torch, put a torch in their inventory and they will use it at night time. Eversjm7
Not enough time to pull off one of the master destruction spells? Become ethereal then charge up. When Ethereal is done...RELEASE Works well when significantly outnumbered Bye bye bad guys
Matth85
- boring how long some NPC talk? Sprint into them, and their current dialoug will be over. Really makes certain long scenes shorter by bumping into everything untill thing moves forward.
Evilslay3r5
- Horse keep flying down the mountain while you're trying to get down? Try walking, noob. - Ridiculous glitch got you down? Use the console: My link - Trying to fix your game is not cheating. - Don't block power attacks from hammers. Dodge them, they're slow and can do pretty heavy damage and stagger easily - Don't try and throw your shield up to block arrows. - This will sometimes work, but most of the time you'll find them shooting at your legs/head. Best chance is to zig-zag toward the enemy. I also find taking archers, that are way out of the way, out last to be the most effective. You can hide behind the enemy you are currently engaged with. - Two-handers are for newbs. Disregard damage, acquire skill. - Just kidding guys. - Killing random Thalmor is fun. It has also been proven to increase libido. - Lie - Use shouts to supplement your main fighting technique, not to try and obliterate the enemy. - Regardless of what most people believe, "Fus Ro Dah" does not mean "NUKE THAT *****". Please plan accordingly. Edited December 4, 2011 by Evilslay3r5
AbleGnome
- If someone threatens you, bad-mouths you, or otherwise treats you with disrespect after you've just saved their town, killed a dragon before their very eyes, or become a Thane, save the game, slip into God Mode, then take your time killing everyone. Re-load previous save when ready, and feel really good.
