maniczombie
Skyrim doesn't have a mesh folder on install. If you wish to add mods that contain meshes, you must create one.

Which one exactly? Also, did you extract the file from the zip/rar? If the mod had a structure such as Data/meshes/blahblah/somethingelse then you would copy and paste that to the Skyrim root folder. If the mod had a structure such as meshes/blahblah/somethingelse then that gets copied and pasted into the Skyrim/Data folder.
maboru
How are they created new meshes without the CK?
bisslad
On 12/5/2011 at 12:29 AM, maboru said: How are they created new meshes without the CK?Well, you don't actually create new meshes in the CS for a start. Usually a third party piece of software such as 3DS Max, Maya, Zbrush or blender is used to create and texture a new mesh, which can then be exported to the (for previous ES games anyway) .nif file format to be used in game. The CS comes into play when creating an actual game object that is for want of a better word, "registered" with the game engine in the form of a plugin mod file. As to how they are trying to create such a reference in Skyrim without a CS, im afraid I have no idea as I haven't picked the game up on PC yet... going to wait till January when the CS is released!! Hope this helps anyway.

jflopex
Having the exact same problem with the exact same mod. The mod says to copy the textures and mod folders to the \Data folder and that should be it, but it doesn't work.
Psycodin
Not sure if this will work, but is worth a shot, when you start the game through Steam and the Splash window comes up, click on "Data Files" and check "Load Loose Files"

You fail to be specific about which mod. How are people supposed to be of assistance if youdo not provide sufficient detail... I'm going to GUESS the specific mod is this:http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=70 If that ist he case if you notice there is a MESH archive but one would have course have to follow instructionsand install the complete MAIN file too. Simply having the mesh wont' work you need the corresponding textures as well. I'll say this, that mod instructions would be confusing to a new mod user as he offers too many confusing options. No wonder some are confused. Once you get the hang of it though you'll know what to do. If that is not the mod in question then provide a link.
