Skyrim - Mod Detectives Thread

Carrying on a tradition that goes back to Morrowind and Oblivion, I have started one for Skyrim.

It's pretty simple. If you can't find a mod, you post a description of it here and I or someone else will find it for you. I think it's better to have one thread for all the questions than a lot of threads everywhere.

Please don't link to pirate sites or forbidden sites.

Hello.

I am not sure if this belongs in Mod Request thread. Or detective thread.

But I am wondering if there is a Mod that already exists that makes all the wildlife, creatures, etc run much faster?

I find it annoying that when I sprint , I can catch a deer, elk, rabbit, horse, chicken, etc on foot.

Have you taken a look at SkyTEST. It does a lot of changes to animals, part of which is running speed for some of them.

No I have not checked that one out.

Although I must admit I have passed it in searching.

I will take a closer look at that mod.

Thanks.

I don't want to put down any mods but please be careful with this one and BACK UP YOUR SAVES!!! It has tendency to cause problems in combination with some mods. Good Luck!

I would tend to argue that this mod isn't necessarily a cause of problems but rather a lack in understanding in how some mods are built. SkyTEST is to be considered a 'fork' of Skyrim. Meaning that it takes the game in a new direction, just as SkyRE is also a fork. Doesn't matter what the mod is, backup saves or being prepared to start over are always good things to do and remember. The real problem is not any one specific mod but the willy-nilly install and uninstall of mods all the while trying to keep playing the same character and further corrupting the save file with leftover bits of each mod removed. The proper procedure for best game stability is to pick a set of mods, play the game, finish the game. Then pick new mods, play a new game finish that game. repeat as much as you want. I know you didn't say anything bad specifically, but many mods get a bad wrap because someone had a problem and narrowed it down to a certain mod being removed solving their issue, yet they even state that they removed other mods beforehand. doesn't take much to consider that perhaps the last mod removed had become reliant on changes made by earlier mods removed. end rant...

Yes, I do agree with backing up your saves, starting new game etc... Test the mod out first before letting it touch your main character's save games. Good advice for all mods.

Hi guys. I am looking for some nice player home mods, for different type of characters - stealth, hunter, evil, necromancer, mage, warrior, barbarian etc... I'd like them to be lore friendly, humble abodes in most cases.

Farmhouse-like maybe, or small sized manors with crafting facilities. No overpowered stuff, no servants, no merchants and stuff like that. No huge, empty castles, keeps or massive houses with lots of rooms.

I browsed the relevant Nexus' category, but without installing all those mods its hard to tell really what's nice. Some advice or recommendations are most welcomed and appreciated!

Thanks!

I've been using Dragon Falls Manor and Riverside Lodge and I think they would fit your purposes, although neither of them is limited to a certain type of character. However, both have crafting facilities and really aren't overpowered or anything like that.

You could also try to Build Your Own Home, it's quite easy and you can customize it to your liking.

Thanks HankScorpio14, much appreciated!
