Windows 7 and Fallout 3

Ok, so I install the game, and when I get to the menu and select new game it takes me to a load screen. It takes but a few moments for it to crash.

I have Windows 7 and understand that Fallout 3 is not compatible with this OS. So, what can I do to make the game work?

Suggestions please!

should work just fine

did you applied all the patches to the game ?

are you running as admin ?

have you tried compatability mode yet ?

and who told you fallout 3 doesnt work on win 7 ? it works under vista there is no reason it should not work under win 7

and what are the specifications of your laptop ?

System Specs:

Intel i5 2.30 GHZ

Memory: 6 GB

HD: 640 GB

Also, compatibility mode?

compatability mode, to do this, depends on how and where it was installed. The easiest method, go your fallout 3 file folder, find the fallout3.exe file, right click on it, select properties, a window will open, look for the conpatability tab, select, then check the box and use the drop down box to select the OS you want to use.

I am running Win 7 Ultimate 64-bit, no campatability problems.

It works fine on Win7, both 32 bit and 64 bit version. Whoever said it wouldn't, didn't know what they were talking about.

Using the computer you plan to play the game on

Go here to see if your computer can run the game

http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri/

You will find the various game we support

Skyrim listed as 'The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Oblivion listed as 'The Elder Scrolls IV, Oblivion

Fallout3 as Fallout3 PC

Dragon Age listed as Dragon age: Origins

Dragon Age 2 as Dragon Age II

The Witcher as The Witcher

The Witcher 2 as The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings

Fallout New Vegas as Fallout: New Vegas

Morrowind is not listed, However if you can run Oblivion at all it should run well on your system.

The recommendations here are fairly conservative, So if it says you can run it, you probably can. But if it says you can't, you may be able to if you make some small improvements or shut down some background stuff.

They are also not going to say You definitely can run it, only that your computer meets the minimum requirements to play it, and not how well it will play.
