razeyy12345
I have a mac book but i have windows xp installed on it. It works when i install oblivion but when i click on the icon to play it, it says oblivion has encountered a problem and needs to shut down. Then a window pops up and asks me if i want to ignore the problem or report it. Is this a problem with my lap top because if it is ill just switch to my other windows desktop. Please help! gamemaster79
I don't know if this is some kind of bug, but knowing that your playing Oblivion on a laptop, I would say that it's not powerful enough to run it (unless you have an Alienware or some other gaming laptop). I could be wrong, but that's my assumption. Gamemaster
Storm Raven
The error message asking you if i want to ignore the problem or report it, is a common (too common) windows dialog that occurs in what is technically known as a "crash to desktop" situation. You will probablly much better off runing Oblivion on a PC (not sure if BethSoft made an edition for the Mac, but I am sure that few games make the jump via "winxp for the mac". I'm sure to be corrected if I am wrong. The deal is alot of games are making calls directly to the hardware, bypassing the operating system, and there is the problem. The truth is most games have been pulling this trick since the dark ages of the eighty's, I know, I was there. (But please don't tell anybody, cause the only thing I ever warp the truth about is my age, paraniond you see that some crook out there on the www knowing my exact DOB will go and steal my Social and we can't have that now can we?)
