freddycashmercury
Sorry to dissapoint you, but mods only work for the PC version of Oblivion. You can only download official content from the Xbox Live Marketplace if you have the 360 version.

WoogieMonster
is there anyway what so ever to get mods for any game onto a 360 and i dont mean by using the marketplace Short answer "no." Long answer "yes" if the game maker made a mod and released it on disc, then you could get it without buying it on marketplace.
Storm Raven
Hey Guys we gotta get this thread moved to the correct sub forum. Standby for the Jump. Contacting the Bridge…
freddycashmercury
Yes, WoogieMonster is correct, and please note that even if Bethesda did this, it would still leave you unable to put mods made by the people on this site onto your 360. So sorry to dissapoint you. BTW, I'm ready for the jump, Stormraven!

bluekatt
a bit of thread necromancy i was wondering if its absolutly impossible to place mods or have mods developed for the xbox 360 version of oblivion if there is a hard drive presetn after all shivering isles and knights of the nine are nothing more then mod files residing on my 360's 20 gig hd or is it just a waste of effort and time writing an installer script to deal with the 360 let alone instal i ton the hd and have it play nice is wayy to much to ask for im asking this because there are extensive mods made for morrowind and obblion such as ooo and the one that adds the regions of morrowind and morrowind game play abilities to the game of oblivion whos ename eludes me for the moment neither of which are basic mods unfortunaly i think the console gamers are left out in the cold with this one even if consoles are starting to use hd's
bben46
Currently not possible. The operating systems are different. You would have to completely rewrite every mod to work, assuming you could get them into the 360 to begin with. Also, the 360, as with other consoles is a locked system. The manufacturer does not want you to put anything on it that you did not buy from them. Any changes, such as an unauthorized mod (That they don't get paid for) will void the warranty, The console is not designed to do the things a PC does. It does one thing only and that fairly well. It plays games. A PC does many things, some better than others. Its actually a pretty fair game machine, but it takes more tinkering than a console to make it work. However, it was designed as a programming machine - to write programs on. And that is where a PC beats the consoles. As a game machine, a console is much more stable. While a PC is more versitle. Both have advantages and disadvantages. If you want to just play games, get a console. If you want to play WITH games get a PC.
