Thejke
I purchased the house in whiterun in order to store my extra items. At first everything was fine. However, now whenever I go to put an item into a the chest in the house the game pauses for about 5 seconds. This has been getting worse over time. This might not sound like a problem, but when I have dozens upon dozens of weapons, armor, food, ingredients, and other items to put in the chest what would just take 30 seconds to a minute takes about 5 minutes. If anyone knows how to fix this or knows of a mod that will help please let me know. Also, while I'm asking, does anyone know of a mod that will separate items in a chest into categories like my inventory. I have hundreds of items in one chest and it takes a very long time to find the one item that I need.

tom1016
I know QD inventory will help your inventory screen by miles, although it doesn't help with chests as of yet. Maybe you just have to much in there lol. I always seperate weapons, armor, ingredients, ect. into seperate chests and I have never run into this issue. khbazur
The reason your screen is pausing a long time when opening chests is because you have a lot of items in the chest. Bethesda games have a limit which if you exceed it, it will start paging data to the swap file slowing things down. To minimize this, separate things into different containers and try to keep the items in a container to 3 or 4 full scrolls ( as in if you have to scroll down 3 or 4 times you may be starting to overload the system) It's an old Bethesda bug that has never really gone away. Skyrim seems to have less capacity than oblivion with it's 255 item limit before paging. Hope this helps. By the way, Breezehome has a lot of containers you can use to divvy up your items aside from your Chest in your room, like the 2 cupboards in the corridor outside your room, the dresser and end table in your Housecarl's room, as well as several containers downstairs. I just looked around Breezehome. I do not have the 2 cupboards in the corridor outside my room. I have the dresser and end table in the housecarl's room. I have no containers at all downstairs. I looked at every single piece of furniture to make sure that I wasn't missing anything. Do you have a mod that adds items to Breezehome. Or is there someway to expand/add to your home. Thejke
Never mind I looked it up. I just purchased all the upgrades. I am about to put stuff in different containers. Thanks for the advice.
maboru
They all should be there (and working) after you purchase all the upgrades from the Jarl's assistant (I forget his name now.)
