goukishin Posted December 5, 2011 Share Posted December 5, 2011 Hey everyone, Well it all started with a Legion quest that asks me to return an axe or something to the Jarl of whiterun. When I talk to him, there is nothing that refers to the quest in the chat menu. I thought it's okay but afterwards I found that it wasn't the only quest bugged. I started the Blade In The Dark quest, I kill Valohknir and he doesn't give me his soul and the girl who is waiting to see me absorb it is just standing there. Then I went on to do a companions' quest that requires me to steal some plans from the silver hand and bring them to Lydia. I steal the plan, go to Lydia and there is nothing referring to the quest in the chat window again. What the hell is happening? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I have noticed several similar issues in my game the last couple of days, though different quests from yours. For me, I was doing the White Phial one (forget exact quest name) to collect snow, heart, and tusk; I already had hearts & tusk in my inventory and house but they didn't count; I collected more tusk and finally after getting like 3 more it registered (you only need 1.) As for the heart, I have killed and looted them, found them on shelves, already had some, none of it seems to register. And now they are all marked as quest items and can't be dropped. Also, the orc librarian at the mages college had a quest to find shalidor's writings, which i did but nothing showed up in his topics. I talked to him a bunch of times and left and came back later and some combination of things made it finally show up. Then he gave me the quest again - not sure if that part is working as intended or not though. Oh, and somebody . .(jarl of windhelm maybe?) sent me out to kill a dragon but every time I go there the dragon is in this weird spastic movement in air where the model seems frozen and sort of jerks and teleports around and is not attackable. I also keep getting video crashes the last couple of days but I guess that's a different issue. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
maboru Posted December 6, 2011 Share Posted December 6, 2011 I had similar issues and the only thing that corrected them for me was to go back to a previous save, finish as many quests as I could and then keep the total number of open quests down to around a dozen or so (including misc. ones.) It seems that if you have too many open quests then the quest scripts get confused. I found it also helped to keep only one active quest highlighted at a time.
