Second Character blues..

I've spent days worth of hours playing through the game with a Redguard Warrior build and was hoping to play the game with a second character as a High Elf Mage or something but when i started the game again it seemed to be overwriting my old save game files. I had made a backup of the old ones just in case, but when i copied them back the quicksaves were gone. Luckily some not-so-old autosaves remained so i just started using those for my Redguard character.

But now the problem is, I can't play with the Mage character or I'm pretty sure it'll overwrite the autosaves too after some time- so is there no way to play the game with a second character?

Seems to me this could be fixed just by making your own saves...

Which you should do anyway since Bethesda's Autosaves tend to not be the most reliable of objects.

Just click on "New Save" every time.
