cattywampus4
Hi there So I have had NW since it came out but I have not even completed the main quest or Far Harbor yet so I have only visited NW once and just completed the gauntlet section. There seems to be a lot of chatter about how the NW quests affect Commonwealth settlements and relationship with Preston etc. I have spent months with the same character and all of the settlements as have built are extensive with hours and hours spent on detailing, and so I do not like the idea of going in and destroying what I have built or killing settlers etc. I am hoping that you guys could summarise the best option to allow the completion of NW without affecting my current settlements. I do have access to some settlements that I have not started building on yet that I may not mind being run by the raiders but as I understand it you also need to take more settlements to supply the three raider outposts? I guess what I am saying is I could spare three settlements for raiders as long as taking them wouldn't destroy my relationship with Preston and the Minutemen. I have read something like killing all the raiders in NW once five flags have been raised? Please, any advice welcomed to prepare me for NW. I don't mind some spoilers if it will help me play NW. Many thanks.

Raycheetah
There is also the option of doing a playthrough in which you don't meet Preston and the gang until AFTER you do Nuka World. That changes things quite a bit. =^[.]^=

Don't you also need to reach Level 30 before accessing NW ?

Not sure off the top of my head what the level requirement is for NW to become available, but you'll probably want to have some good levels under your belt before you start it. That said, it would be entirely possible to start the main questline, even get Automatron and Far Harbor under your belt, without visiting Concord and Preston's little gang. In fact, you could complete NW, betray the gangs and wipe them out after earning their perks, and restore your good name in the Commonwealth before you ever speak with Preston. =^[.]^=
