Two issues here:
1. There's a flag set on HorseRace in the Creation Kit for "Can't Open Doors", which overrides any AI package that says to do otherwise. You could make your own HorseRace2 without that flag set (not a very compatible solution), or use a mod like mine which flips the flag on HorseRace via MCM option (allow horses in cities).

2. Horse AI is setup to prevent them from going into interiors - and for good reason because they'll get stuck in most interior locations due to their size. You can work around this by making your cave exist in its own worldspace and then add that worldspace to the RidableWorldSpaces form list, which is what controls the worldspaces where horses can go. Of course, then you'd want to make sure your horse can actually fit through all the narrow corridors in your cave.

Thanks for the info.

 

The cave is a wide round opening so fitting wouldn't be a problem as it's not only for a stable but a full byre with cows, goats and chickens.

 

Looked on the nexus but couldn't find your mod.

 

I think option 2 sounds like it would be the most generically compatable as long as it would allow the horse to pass through the load door. Or do I need to set it up some other way. I was using an auto load door marker, the type to load in caves in vannilla.

Have you tried "Extensive Follower Framework" www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/12933 ? Believe me "Immersive Horses" will be worth making the change! I used to use AFT & changed to EFF, I have only used it a little in mod testing so far but it seems to be fine, & overall it has better reviews than other follower managing mods - from what I have seen anyway.

EFF for whatever reason crashes my game.

 

But I am wanting to have all the features I need in my mod so that it has less chance of conflicting with others and so that there is no neccesity to install multiple mods to get mine working.

 

I need some method of being able to ride my horse strait into my byre, a seperate world space cave where all the animals for my mod are kept.

You'd actually need to do both - uncheck the flag for Can't Open Doors on HorseRace and add your cave to RidableWorldSpaces. I'm not as familiar with markers, but a good example might be the Whiterun main gate. I know horses will follow the player through there if Immersive Horse's options are set to do so.
Also, check out Immersive Amazing Follower Tweaks. Claims to be compatible with my mod.

EDIT: Also make sure to check the horse's AI packages to make sure they aren't being blocked from following the player into interiors or for some other reason.
