Horse perspective bug

Hi guys,

 

I have been playing with my modded Skyrim for a long time and I didn't change my load order or added/removed any mods, so I don't think this problem is mod related.

Basically, for some reason when I load my game the perspective is on my horse and not on my character. I can move my character, but the camera is on the horse. I read on the internet about the console command "tc" to fix the problem, and it does work, however when I save the game, exit and then load the game again, the problem is back on.

I really don't want to do the "tc" fix everytime I start playing, so can anyone help me, please? The problem is even worse when loading a save where I'm inside a building, because the camera stay on the horse OUTSIDE of the building, lol.

Do you have any screenshots? Might make it easier to diagnose the issue. Maybe.

Mmh I don't think a screenshot may help. I will try with more details:

- I load the game, the camera is centered on the horse. My character is on foot, I can move him around but the camera doesn't follow him, it stays on the horse.
- If I open the console and I type on the horse, then use the tc console command for two times, the problem is fixed. However when I restart the game, it's there again.

Hmm. That is very strange. Thanks for the second explanation though, it cleared some things up in my mind about your issue. Have you tried creating a new save file while near the horse, after you have entered the console command to fix the issue? What I mean is, use the console to fix your issue and then head outside and make a new save (don't overwrite). Maybe that will help. Hopefully.

Yes I did try, it didn't work. and If I load a save from inside a building, the camera is still outside on the horse (the world in this case is just some mountains and the terrain).

For now I load a previous save when I didn't have this problem, however if I use the horse the problem appears again. I will explain this better:

 

- I load a save when I don't have this bug. The bug is not present and everything is fine.

- If I ride my horse everything look fine, then when I save and reload the bug appears, the camera is on the horse istead of being on my character.

 

I tried killing the horse and buying another, or using a summon spell to summon the skeleton horse, it's always the same, the bug appears. I also tried save cleaner to clean some scripts, no results.

For now I can play without problems as long as I don't ride an horse, which is a pain, but less then a pain of having to use console commands and don't be able to load a save inside a building.

Additional info: I'm using Convinient Horses mod (I always used it, for years, but I never had a problem with it) and I now for the first time completed Dragonborn dlc. The bug appeared after I returned to Skyrim and I rided the horse from windhelm.

 

EDIT: I loaded a save before I played the dragonborn dlc (it was still installed, I just didn't played it yet), I used my horse and went for a ride, saved and reloaded, and the bug didn't show up. So my idea is that this is a vanilla bug related to the Dragonborn dlc. Maybe when you ride the dragon for the final battle it broke something horse related?

I *may* have an idea why it happens but need more info before pointing fingers on whatever mod. If you load a save *before* you have sailed the first time to Solstheim, and sail there, during the boat trip you notice anything unusual if you move the camera?

I *may* have an idea why it happens but need more info before pointing fingers on whatever mod. If you load a save *before* you have sailed the first time to Solstheim, and sail there, during the boat trip you notice anything unusual if you move the camera?

That bug is permanent. the only thing you can do is load a save where the bug doesn't exist or use the tc command everytime. Killing the horse might work but it might actually make your camera bound to something else or make it brake completely.

What was your idea? My save is way before the quest when dragon cultists attack me and may take a long time to test it.
