Changing my controls in Skyrim

I have a slight issue with Skyrim and I didn't see any threads about it. When I choose default controls, it sets it so that block is mouse 1 (Left mouse) and attack is mouse 2 (right mouse). Personally, I prefer it the other way around, but when I try to change it, it won't let me change the left mouse settings.

I can change it so that attack is M1, but when I do, it gets stuck on the "Press a button to map to this action" thing and doesn't let me change it, no matter how many times I click mouse 1. I can set any other key to any other control, but if I set mouse 1 to anything, it just gets stuck, and the only way I can get out of that screen is to set it to something else, which is what I don't want to do.

I use a few mods, but they're all graphics related, so I don't see how there could be a problem. I suppose I could get used to doing things the other way around, but I'm a dogmatic sort, and I'd prefer to see if there's a way to keep what I'm used to. Maybe by editing the preference files or something? I don't know.

Actually the default 'attack' is M1 and default 'block' is M2, so trying to change it to what it already is won't work, especially due to the fact that the games key-mapping is dorked until they patch it. At the moment though you can download one of the re-mapping mods to change any other key bindings.

After Steam rolled out it's past update I found that I had keyboard/mouse mapping issues and could no longer fast travel from within the Skyrim map. Ugh!

 

I found the offending file that was causing the controls to go haywire. In your Program files/Steam/SteamApps/common/skyrim/Data folder, find the file named "Skyrim - Interface.bsa".

 

You have to copy the original file over that one. Obviously, if you don't have the original, this doesn't help you. But you could probably do a fresh install of Skyrim to a different directory and then grab the Interface.bsa file from within the data folder and copy it over the offending one within the Steam/SteamApps/common/skyrim/Data folder.

i have a big problem,my click don't work,i press right click or left but he don't do anything ,is not from controlls ,i checked,but weird is i can press save or load or exit with the mouse but i can't use them in gameplay any help?

:facepalm: sad... have a problem close to this one describe previously , i mess up my control commands in my mouse so when i try to use magic no spell work.. it looks like is going to do something but got stuck and for example i want to use fire, flames don't show once on a while candlelight work . . but also .equip weapons no problem everything else seems to be ok. except by that . if somebody have the same problem please help... help cant play with out my magic ... some people post that one fix of this problem until . a patch is release .. please any help regarding this issue will be most appreciated.

Just disabled all my plugins ~200

And left hand magic started working!!!

But how to find broken plugin... idk...

After an hour of searching "dead" plugin problem solved... it was dance of death plugin version 3.0

JERIKQ THANKS FOR YOUR RESPONSE MAN.. WELL I SEARCH IN MY MODS.. TO SEE IF I HAVE SOME OF THIS ON YOUR LIST BUT NO..I DON'T HAVE NON OF THOSE IN YOUR LIST DO YOU THINK ... THE ONLY PROBLEM WAS THAT ONE TIME I MOVE THE CONTROLLER SET UP , AND BOOM ... NO MORE SPELLS ARE COMING OUT OF MY HANDS. I BEEN TRYING T PUT SETTINGS BACK TO DEFAULT NOT WORK ... MY CHARACTER CAN PLAY WITH WEAPONS NO PROBLEMS.. LEFT OR RIGHT NO ISSUES ,JUST MY SPELLS CAN'T COME OUT IT LOOKS LIKE HE IS GOING TO DO IT AND THEN NOTHING.. I RELEASE THE BUTTON AND NOTHING HAPPENS SPELL DON'T COME OUT.
