axemaster2
So I have two questions... First, is there any way to selectively change the cooldown time on Whirlwind Sprint without changing the cooldown for any other shouts? Second, is there any way to make Whirlwind Sprint boost you in directions other than purely horizontal? For example, you could point the camera up, and launch yourself up. This is something I'd really like to see - it really makes no sense that it only works horizontally.
billyro
I agree with the second one. I believe Bethesda wanted to keep it this way because there are some parts in dungeons that you accidentally fall in, and fight your way out again. It would be boring if the player just shouts and jumps out. Also, I don't know for sure but perhaps there would be some places where you aren't meant to reach and by having Whirlwind Sprint you could access it (Like jumping gates and stuff).Either way, I would like that. I think it would be easy to do, but the CK is still unavailable. :( I thought that the cooldown for the shouts was reasonable though, why shorter? Sure, it has some potential for abuse as you say, but I think it's well worth it. For example, I frequently get stuck in crevices while climbing mountains, and can't escape. So I am forced to reload the game, which is extremely frustrating. I'd much rather be able to just Sprint my way out. Also, it just feels weird that you can't Sprint upwards, given how fast it launches you. I thought that the cooldown for the shouts was reasonable though, why shorter? I want to decrease the cooldown for roleplaying reasons. I just can't find any reference to modifying the cooldowns of individual shouts. I only want to change the Whirlwind Sprint shout, not any of the others.
firstprice
It does't make sense that you can't sprint upwards? As in the name 'Whirlwind sprint' I assume the shout makes you spring faster, so if you can't spring upwards in real life, I think it makes a lot of sense. But yeah anyways it would be cool. axemaster2
No, the description says: "The Thu'um rushes forward, carrying you in its wake with the speed of a tempest" So you aren't really sprinting, you're being launched by a high-speed wind. Corroborated by the shout Words "Whirlwind Fury Tempest".

If you don't mind me borrowing this thread and add a third  Is there anyway to enable actions in mid-air so that Whirlwind Sprint can be used more acrobatically? :ninja: Whirlwind Sprint reminds me of an old Squaresoft PlayStation action game called Soukaigi in the late 90'sThe characters in that game can make a short dash that looks very similar to Whirlwind Sprint, except it can also be used in mid-air
