snapmoderator
Just in case anybody else gets this problem try deleting the "Data\Interface\map.swf" file. SkyUI installed this and my machine did not like this configuration one bit. This solved it.

daemerion
I was questing all Skyrim for ages & then this problem slammed my game! Tried everything I could google to no avail. Reinstalled, uninstalled, disabled mods, deleted mods... you get the picture.Figured out it was Mod Organiser dropping in its 'hook.dll' into data/skse/plugins folder, I prefer it over NMM but alas cannot use it. I haven't updated it yet so there might be hope for it yet. This was my fix & I hope it helps others save on their phsychiatry bill! ^_~

DrEllert
Hey guys, for anyone who stills have CTD on map load, here's my solution:Recently I have had downloaded the Shadow Of Morrowind MOD (http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/35789/?tab=4&&navtag=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.nexusmods.com%2Fskyrim%2Fajax%2Fcomments%2F%3Fmod_id%3D35789%26page%3D1%26sort%3DDESC%26pid%3D0%26thread_id%3D988558&pUp=1). After going through all my MODs it seems that this one is the culprit. Especially since this MOD is changing world map so... Just for you who still crackin' out of their skulls. andrewmyles
Yeah, cool and all, but what if I don't have any mod that affects the map, huh? I keep getting these CTDs pretty randomly.
GeneralNutt
Really that simple ini tweak, i even forgot I made cause me 2 days of grief!! Thank You for posting this, may the nine, grant you some boon worthy of a true hero, or at least have a freaking great year!
Elflady182
Thank you soooooo much for posting this. I recently added a bunch of mods, and never would have guessed that the two related to blood splattering were causing my map issues. I disabled them, and no more crashes. You rock! bobrichards101
The matter of time mod was my culprit.
elagmck
Astonishing, but the Nvidia official skyrim tweak guide screwed up. Those lines;[imagespace]iRadialBlurLevel=0[screenSplatter]bBloodSplatterEnabled=0that they recommended putting into the skyrim.ini file belong in the SkyrimPref.ini file. If you put them in the Skyrim.ini file, as they suggest, you'll be better off when you're dead! The game will crash the moment it reads the ini file to find the map settings (ie when you open the map). You can just throw those suggested lines right into the SkyrimPref.ini file any old place and it will work great.
