We Need Combat Loadouts That Allow Us To Adapt On The Fly.

I'm tired of having to open up the menu to change weapons/spells or equip my bow, aren't you?

I think we need to be able to have a set up on our character for multiple scenarios, instead of having to equip our sword/bows/axes/spells via the menu every time we're in a fight and we need to adapt.

Here's what I'm thinking.

Primary: would be your main weapon(s). Single Handed Weapon(s) stored on sides and BOTH visible if you dual wield. Two Handed stored on back, or side if variable. (Note: you can not have conflicting primaries such as single handed weapon(s) and a 2 handed weapon in this slot, it's one or the other(s).

Defense: Your Shield of Choice, would equip it along with your single handed weapon of choice.

Secondary: Think daggers and other short blades/knives. Also visible on your person.

Bow: Your arrows are always on your back, unless you unequipped them, so why can't your bow of choice stay mounted on your back?

Spell Left: Your spell of choice*

Spell Right: Your spell of choice*

* Spells could be changed on the fly pressing and holding down a button, let's say "X" and you could select by direction keys WASD or by using the mouse from 2 lists of spells, one on left for left and one on right for right, obviously. Opening this menu would "pause" the game.

Potions Pouch/Knapsack: Would allow you sort your potions into a convenient pouch for you to consume in combat on the fly pressing a hot key for magicka, one for stamina and one for health. This pouch could be toggled to be visible on your character or toggled to be invisible.

I know this probably has either been suggested before and probably needs a lot of work and will most likely require the creation kit, but I think it needs to be done. I'm so tired of having to pop open the menu during combat to get to the appropriate spell/weapon/etc to get the job done.

Other notes: To simplify things, the primary button could just be set to be one weapon only, your main single handed weapon or your main 2 handed weapon and the secondary could be for single handed weapons of any kind, so pressing Primary Weapon and Secondary Weapon when both are single handed weapons would engage dual wielding. I honestly think that helps make it easier a bit.

If anyone here is a bit better at clarifying/simplifying ideas, please feel free to do that so everyone can understand my rant.

How do you hotkey? Maybe it'll help a bit, but I still want the mod so that I can keep all my weapons on me, making them visible in third person view. i.e. Bow and quiver on my back, sword on my left side and dagger on right hip, shield on my left arm, just like it should be.

Well first you have to set your desired items as favorites. Open your menu and highlight each thing you want to hotkey and then press F.

Then, exit your menu and open your favorites by pressing Q. From here, highlight the thing you want to hotkey and then press a hotkey. So for example, if you have a sword in your favorites and you want to set it to number 1, put your cursor over the sword and press number 1.

Also, I agree that it would be cool to show all your weapons showing on your body.

I use an xbox controller so using the numpad is a bit of an inconvenience.
