Knightly1 Posted December 8, 2011 Share Posted December 8, 2011 Bookshelves in players' homes worked such that you target the actual shelf on which you wanted to place the books, not the bookcase itself. Hit E to activate and an inventory for the shelf would open to which you would move the books from your personal inventory. Unfortunately, patch 1.2 bugged them so that if you put the books there and then hit R to remove them all, the inventory would close and you'd have them in your personal inventory, but they visually appeared to still be on the shelf. You could target the individual books, but if you clicked E to read one, you get the sound as if you clicked E while targeting nothing and no book would open because it's really not on the shelf anymore. What's worse, you can also no longer activate the shelf inventory. Patch 1.3 that came out yesterday was supposed to have fixed that, however I see no change whatsoever on my PC. When I logged in, the books still appeared on the shelf and I can't activate the shelf. It may be that I'd have to reinstall the game yet again for the change to actually work. Then too, I didn't actually try putting books on the unused shelf to see if it worked now. I only verified that the one that was broken was still broken. Guss Posted December 8, 2011 Share Posted December 8, 2011 (edited) Bookshelves still not working they are fixing the glitch in which a book can be placed and re-used so many times that you hit level 81 in minutes. :thumbsup: there is a few that work but then i am V1.1 so can't prove which does and doesn't. The bookcase in the alchemy lab in Breezehome still does not work for me. I was able to remove all of my books, but I can no longer activate either shelf. The bookshelf by the front door always worked for me. I do not own any other homes to test this on. I'm running the pc version on Windows 7. Thany Posted December 9, 2011 Share Posted December 9, 2011 (edited) the bookshelves that dont work are the ones that had at least one book when the game updated from v1.1 to v1.2. when the 1.3 came, the empty shelves started working properly, but not the one's that had books in them.
