saintpeter
the point of this thread was to find out if people were having issues before some of us patched. at least for me anyway and I will still wait to hear more info on it.Your completely correct in saying people enjoying the game aren't complaining , that was me until i downloaded the 1.3 , Now i am complaining cause I can't even play with out crashing every 5 to 10 minutes , all i did was go to steam page and they began automatically downloading it , and so i trusted they new what they were doing , well ever since then my game got worse , and as i said in another post i can't even play anymore . I have no idea how to fix this !
Six String Razor
I think it has already been mentioned, but after the 1.3 patch I was unable to play. I found a fix that worked for me though. Simply re-verifying file integrity for the game on steam corrected whatever issues were preventing the game from running for me. Just a thought. Michlo
The ONLY problem I've seen post both patches was a couple of dragons not giving up their souls after death. No game-breaker for me, particularly since I have plenty of spares. No other issues prior or since either patch so I've been one of the fortunate ones. I would strongly suggest trying it with no mods besides the cosmetic ones.
mcbarker
Mine still does random CTD's without any message. I've gotten into the habit of saving at least once every five minutes. Ever since I installed the game, I've experienced problems reading books. The same book comes up over and over again until I exit the menu, then I have to go back into the menu and choose a new book. Sorry Bethesda, but this is the buggiest software I've ever used. Not worth the $60 I paid for it.
Handofbane
Not sure if this is a problem with the patch overall, or something broke Ysolda - where she is supposed to give a freebie skill gain after completing her local task, I did not get one this time around. It will take me a while yet to get the other freebie skill gains I know of, but can anyone else confirm whether they have had this problem post-patch 1.3, too? From what I have experienced you do not get skill improvements from NPC if your skill is already too high. In my case that has been some smithing skill reward while my skill already has been as high as 95 or the like.
Handofbane
That can't be the cause for me, this was a brand new character, with a whopping 21 Speechcraft.
sorgrim
Running beautifully for me atm. We'll see if I run into problems. Hopefully not, another FPS drop like from 1.2 would probably make me burst into tears.
NAPALM13092
It destroyed the AI packages on my game. Any NPC not in combat would freeze in the place. My weapons also disappeared. I completely uninstalled and reinstalled Skyrim up to 1.3 with a fresh character and everything runs flawlessly. I think most of the problems with 1.3 seem to be with older saves and ini configurations along with the new patch. Everyone had these characters with all these variables saved on them along with their custom ini tweaks that Bethesda could just not account for. Now I started completely clean slate with the 4gb patch, a few cosmetic mods to get rid of the blocky facial textures, better nightsky, and a few ini tweaks like tree and land shadows. I am running the game at a solid 45-60 fps maxed out and haven't encountered any bugs minus some NPCs teleporting a few feet when in dialogue. I love this game dearly but it really could have used another month and a half or so in development. I think a late but bug free launch with the construction kit would have been better than this but then again that is just me. Sharps97
1.3 completely crushed performance for me (went from ~60 fps to ~1 fps)... Here's hoping 1.4 comes out soon and adds performance back to the game...
