Povuholo
Crazy idea: There's a file called obse_readme.txt inside the package. Perhaps you should read it?
Storm Raven
No, don't tell me they actually provided Instructions with the package? What is the world coming too?

Storm Raven
Are you refering to the OBSE Loader or the Oblivion Loader Even the Lords Of the Boards don't read minds. Shucks, man give some Detail, when you ask a question, OK? :wallbash: Then we don't have to play 20 questions, which may help the post count but drives me crazy! No Offence Cazaam. Love, Peace, Unity... Povuholo
Hhmm... instructions. did not think of that one. :P Do i need to run the loader thing while playing the game because its just a blank screen.Remember that obse_readme.txt file I mentioned before?[ Installation ] 1. Copy obse_1_1.dll, obse_1_2.dll, obse_1_2_416.dll, obse_editor_1_0.dll, obse_editor_1_2.dll, and obse_loader.exe to your Oblivion directory.2. Run oblivion by running obse_loader.exe from the Oblivion directory. If that doesn't help, there's a large Troubleshooting/FAQ section of the readme a few lines lower. :)

bben46
If your download did not have the readme.txt file, maybe it is missing somthing else also. The OBSE files do not go in the /data folder because OBSE is not a 'mod' but a separate program that must be started before Oblivion is started. You must copy them into your Oblivion directory. Unless you put it somewhere else, the default path is C:\Program files\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion If you are running SI you only need the latest SI patch and NOT the oblivion patch. if you are NOT running SI then use the latest Oblivion patch and NOT the SI patch. No, don't run the loader 'thing' while playing the game. After OBSE is installed as per the read me. then instead of using the oblivion launcher (that cool icon that oblivion puts on your screen) use the OBSE launcher instead. I think you have to go to the oblivion folder and make a shortcut, then move the shortcut to your desktop. once you get that working, you can get rid of the original Oblivion icon - it's really just a shortcut to Oblivion.exe in the /Oblivion folder- The OBSE launcher starts OBSE first, Then starts oblivion for you. If you already have OBMM, and if you don't I recommend that you get it, OBMM can launch OBSE and Oblivion for you when you start it. I recommend you read the read me for OBMM before trying that. It;'s definitely worth the effort.
