chris1892006
*FIXED* Have latest Game Version/ Latest F4SE... Key : Open Game Always Using F4SE Launcher and Never Any Other Way... To use the thing... On your player ... Simply "~" console type "slm player 1"... enter To use the thing on your companions or any character... Simply "~" open console while looking at the character you wish to modify.. Click on them and an ID will pop up.. like Piper for instance 2f1f... At which point you would type "slm "2f1f" 1" enter.. Done  without the beginning quotes... It would look like this : slm "2f1f" 1 OR slm player 1 (ENTER) If the Presets function is greyed out, that usually means a wrong version. Go into your Fallout4 game folder and make sure you don't have any "junk" files from older versions of F4SE. For the current version, the only files you need are: f4se_1_8_7.dll f4se_loader.exe f4se_steam_loader.dll Any other "f4se" files should be deleted. Then go into .....steamapps\common\Fallout4\Data\F4SE\Plugins\ and verify that f4ee.dll and f4ee.ini are there. Lastly, go to ......steamapps\common\Fallout4\Data\F4SE\Plugins\F4EE\Presets\ and make sure all your presets (.json files) are there. GeneralChaos01
You need to launch the game using the f4se_loader which is in the ...steamapps\common\Fallout4. That fixed it for me.

Right click on it and select properties, Next go to the local files tab and select View Local Files. this will take you to the location you've installed the game. The F4SE launcher is in there. Edit If you don't already use F4SE you'll need to install it or you won't have the F4SE Launcher.
SirTwist
To put simply, I bet most of you have placed your games in the program files hierarchy. Learning from my own mistakes years ago, and before steam, I do not now install game, unless it's something I am not modding at all. With elevated permissions, etc. you should never place any game there, unless it's something you don't mind being there. Make a folder on a hard drive that is for steam games only. Use this folder to put all your games in. If you have multiple drives, you can do this on all drives. Personally, I place my games on one of two hard drives I have that is not my main hard drive. I place my download on an external drive I have. ( I also use Mod Organize and Mod Organizer 2 for my Bethesda based games, and make new folders for the downloads on my external, and place my downloads there. You can also do this with NMM, it's not hard.) I know where my games are, at almost all times, and I know how to navigate to them. I also try to keep a track of updates, etc. for games, as well. Also, for your mods, you can place those outside of the games folder, if you wish. I don't recommend a separate hard drive. Rather, just a separate folder for the mods. Mod Organizer and MO 2 do a good job of this, and so does NMM, lately. As for F4SE, it is not updated, yet. And Fallout 4 just had an update. So, please wait patiently for the F4SE team to put out a new version. It shouldn't too much longer.
