Bunik
Hi, I wonder if anyone tried to find out why is Steam removing Skyrim exe prior patching. It happened to me twice already with 1.2 and 1.3 patch. Trying to launch skyrim, doesn't work. Check the exe and it is gone. Steam didn't download the patch. Only thing that helps is to verify game files. With 1.3 released the exe is missing again even though the patch hasn't downloaded. I tried to force Steam to download it, but could not find a way. So I disabled automatic update, then enabled it again and voila, the application finally decided to download it. I wonder however, why this hassle? Why is it messing with the game before downloading the patch? Why is it not downloading the patch automatically upon launch? (Steam)This application would be good if it alowed more controll to the user. So far.. it's a pile of trash forced on us by bethesda's distributors. (who are messing it up even more in certain regions, but that's not the point of this topic). Edited December 9, 2011 by Bunik
maboru
Steam ran into a problem with downloading the patches while the game is running. There's supposed to be a Steam patch to fix it but next time just log on to your Steam account without running the game just in case and then verify your cache before starting the game.
