Almelexia
About the lord of the rings movies, what part of them were the best. Darnoc
I'm not so sure, if FotR or RotK was better, but TTT is out of the question for the best film. Well, RotK was perhaps a little better than FotR. But why not TTT? PJ just changed too much and also the wrong things. Also the scene, where Eomer and his guys are riding down the hill I didn't like. First, this slope was really steep. And then they just ride into those spears (which are forged to kill horses) without any harm done. Even with this little light trick of Gandalf at least half of the Rohirrim-front-line would have been killed. And I don't like the new staff of Gandalf, it just looks not so cool as his old one or the one of Saruman. Oh, and I will never forgive PJ for making Treebeard such a stupid creature. As the oldest creature living in Middle Earth he should be very wise and knowlegdeable. Also the battle was far too long (Helms Deep in book: 20 pages; Pellenor in book: 70 pages) and I disliked Faramir. In the books he is far more honorable and he rejects the ring instantly. Stormscape
in ROTK they left out FIVE CHAPTERS. Mainly the parts about the scouring of the shire.
Darnoc
Yes, this is true and I also thought it sad that they left the scouring of the Shire out. But the rest of the film is really good and they had the most important things in the film (unlike in TTT).
Xionith
If they put the Scouring in (I personally wanted to see it...) people who haven't read the books would have been very confused. Everything is over, Sauron unmade etc. etc. then the hobbits are walking back and all of the sudden, "You can't pass this get after 7:00!" (or something like that) at the edge of the Shire... I mean, people who haven't read the book (not all of them but the majority of 'average' movie watchers who just want action...) were probably confused when Frodo and Galadriel and stuff whent to the Grey Havens, because they didn't explain it! (I think they could of had some Gandalf or Galadriel narration in the background of that scene, explaining it)- But anyway to get back on topic, I would like to say :FOTR-ROTK-TTT but I sort of forgot what FOTR was like so, maybe ROTK-FOTR and stupid old TTT... Although I didn't really like ROTK. I mean they did put in all the important stuff, and didn't twist anything (example: in TTT Faramir...) but they could have done many scenes better, I just think PJ didn't live up to what LOTR could have been... ;)
Pack Rat
I found the first movie good for it's tales and it's adventures, the TTT with Helmsdeep and the last march of the Ents, ROTK with the magnificent city of Minas Tirith, I just adore the movie version of Minas Tirith, the army's of gondor and the battle at the fields. However I did expect a bit more of the battle at the Black Gate. And the end of ROTK... It was just too long... They showed things that really didnt mathered.. Ok the return of the king scene was quiete important, and the return to the shire.. but the rest? I found that quiete useless and quiete destroys the sphere of the movie FOTR => Fellowship of the ring...
Almelexia
Yes that is a bit sad about all the things they have jumped over in the films, but in a other way how big would the films be if they took exactly everything. Well one film over seven hours i think.
Slaiv
1. Return of the King 2. Fellowship of the Ring 3. The Two Towers Legolas' little flip onto the horse in TTT was pretty cool though....
