maboru
This is a good place to start looking - http://www.thenexusforums.com/index.php?/topic/456889-skyrim-complete-pc-crashes/ - or many of the other similar threads. If you try all the solutions there and still need help then post back here with your system specs and any mods that you're using and when the problem started. maboru
I have no idea what an Alienware laptop is. System specs are your CPU, GPU, RAM, OS etc. You can post your DXDiag but perusing this forum for all the CTD threads for fixes that worked for various people to see if any of them work for you is always the first place to start looking for help. The one I linked to has a lot of information but there are many others as well.
daventry
I get allot of CTD plus Purple and Yellow Textures. Before the Patches came, i could play on for like 2 Hours, now i play 2 Minutes with a Crash. There are some Mods i got like Better Textures or stuff like that, so i deleted them all and still the Game Crash. LordSailas
My game quits too, and no it's not my hardware. Every other game I have works just great. I have a 5870 HD ATI vid card, Soundblaster XiFi card, gigs and gigs of ram and a stellar hard drive. All my drivers are up to date. And I'm no knuckle dragger. That said, there's something wrong and they really need to patch skyrim for the PC. It's a great game, but its not great when it's unplayable. It just crashes straight to desktop, no orangle lights etc etc.
maboru
Dracion - I'm not sure what you mean by "Memory: 2gb to 8gb of RAM" unless you have 2 gig of physical system RAM and 6 gig of virtual (HDD) shared RAM. If you only have 2 gig system ram then it would be a good idea to add more (at least up to 4 gig and then use the 4gb mod until the next patch comes out) they're almost giving it away on line now with the Christmas sales. Laptop 'mobile' video chipsets aren't really cut out for massive games like this but they can work up to a point. Skyrim is suffering from memory leakage so that could explain why you're crashing after a couple of hours. Temporary fixes are; a couple of times an hour to use the console command pcb to purge your cell buffers and every hour quit the game and run a memory defragger or just turn your computer off, wait about 10 secs. or so and turn it back on (this will reset the memory.) Daventry - It sounds like you're running out of VRAM. Skyrim does a poor job of memory handling in general and when VRAM is used up then it's supposed to call system RAM on overflow but for some people that doesn't seem to be working too well. It's really up to the card makers to overcome this so keep an eye out for new drivers. In the meantime you can try the above quick fixes and see if that helps. LordSailas - Just because other (better written!) games work on your rig doesn't mean it's not hardware related. Some games are coded in a way that makes them particularly forgiving, not so Skyrim. Skyrim's engine is 11 years old now and has been cludged heavily with each new Beth game. It would seem that Zenimax Media (the corporation that owns Bethsoft) is not affording Beth the financial resources to properly re-write their code which forces them to over-write it. Not a good solution but with the billions of dollars that Beth games bring in anyway why should they? You could try the above as well. All that said, if the last time any one installed a video driver and they didn't wipe all traces of the previous ones off their computer then, by all means, make a clean sweep and reinstall your drivers again.
